Has planning permission been placed yet and has the council put before the club it's desire that we rent part of ground from the council? Is there any truth that the council have moved the goalposts (forgive the pun) on the new ground

It hasn't. The developers still seem comfortable with the published timetable. There was/is the intention to seek detailed planning for the stadium at the same time as outline permission for the whole site. There seem to have been protracted negotiations with interested parties for the superstore development.

I am not aware that the council is wanting to buy any of the land- it wouldn't seem to fit in with any of their policies.

I was not aware that anything had changed since the adoption of the Local Plan.

When is the planning application to be placed?

What is the time scale for the planning to be rejected/accepted?

Has a price for the land been negotiated yet?

Is the build time still 12 months?

Really struggling to be in the ground by May 2008 as you earlier quoted are we not?
We move really really slow at this club would you not agree?
Is this a record for a ground build 22 years and counting and still nothing certain?

I will tell you that there are a couple of people within the council planning dept who tell that this new ground
build has hit some stumbling blocks and has faltered and they have serious worries that there is a chance that the ground build could easily be scrapped in favour of a new local plan, Can you offer reassurances to us who are concerned that there is no truth in these concerns and all is going as planned

There has been an indicative price agreed for many months but as you would point out this means nothing until a contract is signed. I understand that at the Business Community meeting just before Christmas that Barrie expected the deal to be signed before Christmas. I don't know whether this has happened.

Is the build time still 12 months?

It was 50 weeks but a couple of weeks may have been trimmed depending on the rendering of the site.

Really struggling to be in the ground by May 2008 as you earlier quoted are we not?

I can only go on what I am told.

We move really really slow at this club would you not agree?

Three and a half years from first suggestion of a site until finished stadium would be quick.

Is this a record for a ground build 22 years and counting and still nothing certain?

Well CFSS have only had ownership for five years most of which was considering a different site.

As a Local Plan is very involved and is generally revised every decade, I wouldn't see it being scrapped.

I mentioned this a while ago, Sainsbury's are going down there and are meeting the rest of the cost of the build and it will be called the Sainsbury's Stadium.

Thankyou for your answers

The price for the land has been agreed for many months be it an indicative price and Ma Hubbard was expected to sign a deal before Christmas and as you say you do not know wether this has happened. So be it but until the ownership of the club is decided the CFSS are in theory still the owners of the Club are they not? So why is it then that Ma Hubbard sees fit not to inform the owners wether a deal has been signed or not? In my eye's a good example of the contempt and disrespect he holds the CFSS in.

The club first announced that they were after a new ground in the 1984-5 season, which is 22 years from onset, I was saying this would be a record for a club to eventually achieve it's target of a new ground and for once this was not aimed at the CFSS

I said the local plan could be scrapped, maybe these were the wrong words, ammended would have been nearer the mark

Heyup Ducky,

The funding gap is rumoured to be circa. £3M, why would Sainsburys finance this for the Club, afterall, we're the poor relation in the equation?

What I have heard is that they cannot expand at the current locatin and plan to build a new Sava Centre on the land. They will meet the deficit in exchange for naming rights, it appeals to them to have a Sainsbury's stadium next to one of there superstores.

3 million pounds for naming rights? Cant see that happening in all honesty. I'm sure naming rights will be a factor in helping meet the costs but 3 million quid seems a bit steep.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

there was a rumour doing the rounds a while back that Hubbard had done a 20 year naming rights deal, for somewhere in the region of £2million with a supermarket that was sharing the site.
A new hope.

But we have gone downs slightly from Saltergate being a 22,000 ground.

Daft question but when is this likely to be?
