It's a forum where fans can discuss and debate anything and everything Chesterfield FC related.
Bit odd that it sounds like you can't comprehend or understand the concept of a debate forum.
Even the likes of Klopp & Liverpool players get discussed and they're at the very top of the tree.
But you've got to have two sets of opinions to make it work, so I respect your comment/ post

I don't find it odd at all about debating. But criticising a manager who has taken us 20pts clear is thick.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

Our problem is we have a certain mix of fans that are terrible for each other

A load of old people who are habitually miserable

A load of boomers who are habitually entitled

They are like oxygen for each other.

No idea if this is aimed at my posts on this thread, if so you'll find I'm discussing the defence and if the same tactic can be used in the league above.
No criticism of Cook from me, id keep him til retirement- but I guess in any form of debate, words and points of view can be twisted to fit someone else's narrative

Not everyone over 20 is miserable.
Derbyshire is Derbyshire
Yorkshire is Yorkshire

Never the twain shall meet.

As one of the 'load of old people',I am not habitually miserable, after a lifetime as a Spireite I am habitually cautious and even now with,as many keep repeating,a 20 point lead I still have concerns.Old (people) habits eh?

Being a supporter your primary role is to support. Some come to the games with an agenda to moan regardless.

There's one near me, a misplaced pass, he moans, a shot over the bar, he moans and if we don't get it forward fast enough, yeah he moans. I don't have a go at players because it's counterproductive, I encourage instead. On Saturday I wasn't particularly impressed that we were winning 2-0 and ended up with a draw, but I still clapped the team off.

We had two consecutive corners from the NW corner in the first half. One was pumped long towards the far post, and the next was taken short. The cue for a chap near me to loudly question "Why do we *always* do the same thing?" I need hardly add that he missed our first goal - from a recycled corner - as he was on his phone checking Premier League scores at the time.
It's nice to be able to Trust again.

Surely boomers and old people are the same thing.

I’m 57 and far, far from miserable with our teams performances and results.

....well it seems like they're taking a rest!

Seriously tho, this really need addressing at the end of the season. Maybe even needs serious work next training session - seeing as Grimes and Williams are here next term.
I've really reined it in as the result is still hanging there, but we aint showing 'championship' form at all and haven't for the last few games.

Ebbsfleet - played well but we should be pushing them aside.

Bromley - pure shocking defending and nowt to do with a pitch

Rochdale - at 2-0 we don't put it to bed and with more shocking defending.

Forget a promotion push next season with how we defend / with our current defence.
I know we are 20 points clear blah blah blah
But it's a real eye opener how we get opened up quite easily - not mentioning the first 2 mins of today's game as well.

Errmmm.....

I said on another thread that we are f*cked against pace as we play so high.
Looking at their two goals, Dallas using his pace earned the pen - looked like what he did against Notts County.
As for Gardner's goal - Jesus wept. He had an unbelievable amount of space to run in to and using pace (again) gave us little chance of keeping it out if the net.
Food for thought for Cook

You’re 57???
I honestly thought you’d be in your early 70’s!

Interesting that Webb places the blame squarely on the midfield players in front of the back line giving the ball away so cheaply.
‘Defenders don’t want to be chasing back facing our goal’

We need a starting calibre holding player and two starting calibre centre-backs in the summer if we’re to achieve anything next year. My Dad has more pace than our current centre-halves and he’s got two metal knees.

Article of faith for Paul Cook - Never lose the ball in midfield. In front of a defence on the slow side like ours it's fatal, and today we found any number of clever ways of doing it.
