Still majority of the team that pumped Eastleigh by 6 Rochdale 5 & Dorking 6

I hope the management team pump this into the players too. So easy to switch into 2nd gear and get a shock from a set of players who have nothing to lose and everything to prove.

A 1-0 win win will do for me quite honestly

Our players ran themselves into the ground satdi, we can replace some but not all of them, I'd expect 1 or 2 to maybe be a bit jaded, a 1 nil win will do just fine, then play the youngsters satdi to give the 1st team regulars a rest

If it’s because of losing players as result of the ending of loans and outgoing transfers, you would think it’s more the case of what penalties will be levied on them.

Exactly

Bad luck with injuries is one thing, but building your squad with loanees and losing them mid season is another - and then selling one of your most influential players during this period of crisis is just poor urine poor management.

Just don’t get how some on here are thinking they have grounds or desire to request a postponement. There is a heavy price to pay for not fulfilling a fixture

Anyone reckon this will be off due to lack of players for them? Seems like the sort of luck we’d get

Not so long ago,our injury list was akin to a Saturday night in the 70's in the A&E at the Royal. One tackle virtually finished the career of a rising star and deprived us of his goals, but no one bothered about us. It would be more than bad luck if it was postponed, it would be a travesty of justice.

Ignoring the Rochdale game, which was a FA Trophy match, they’ve lost Chadwick (3 goals), Wearne (1), Olley (1), Lofthouse, Mair, Francis of the team that put 6 past Dorking. So that’s a majority.
But we know Cook and Webb and the players won’t be saying this will be easy. That’s just we fans.

Cook has already stated that he is fielding a young team against Welling. The only question mark is whether they’ll be any senior players travelling. My guess is not, perhaps if it was a home fixture there would be, but at most I can only see a goalie and maybe Williams for match fitness.

Gateshead’s crisis is good timing as it would’ve been a really tough fixture after expending so physical and emotional energy against Watford. The timing of the rearranged home fixtures couldn’t be better sandwiching the Trophy game. It is up to us to exploit it

It isn’t just the quantity it is the quality of the missing players.

This is my main concern, how much did Saturday take out of the players? Unusual to see our team looking ready for the final whistle this season and as has already been mentioned we have seen a drop in quality in the past after this type of performance.Hopefully this will be another milestone this squad can achieve.COYB

Why does it concern you? We’ll just swap half the team and be sound.

We had 9 players on the bench on Saturday. Everyone of them could start on Wednesday, and we wouldn’t be seriously weakened.

You're right but the entertainment on Southends message board would be good.
Derbyshire is Derbyshire
Yorkshire is Yorkshire

Possibly Grimes might get a run out at Welling after his 3 match ban

If they were full strength it would have the potential to be match of the season. Gateshead play some of the best football in the league. As it is, we should tank em.
