Concerning the friendly against Grimsby. Why are we playing this match against a team in our league? Is this the first time this has happened? I can't remember it happening before

I think it’s because the EFL has already started and they want the best quality opposition they can face.

Exactly that reason because National North and South both start on Saturday so there is no suitable League left other than our own to provide useful opposition

Not unless we tried to entice an Italian Serie A team over to play us lol because they also start the weekend of the 21st

What’s the crack with the 1pm kick off. Appreciate it tends to get a bit tasty whenever Grimsby visit but is it likely to be such a risk in a pre-season friendly?

Appreciate this may have been covered previously and I probably missed it.

Mentioned in the 'friendlies' thread the Wrexham cup game ko was brought forward due to an event in the lounges being pre booked before the cup draw was made, could the late arrangement of this fixture have caused the same problems.

Its to be hoped so otherwise a precedent been set, unfortunately.
