Apart from the result, that was fun to watch.

I wonder if Cookie must look at that team and think if only I had been allowed to carry it on? Where would we have ended up?

I think 95% of the fanbase think that as well! The other 5% were blowing smoke up Carcrash's bottom. Think Lilleyland.

To be fair there was some great turn outs over the last 2 seasons in the NL when we haven't been doing so well. Salford, Harrogate, Notts County, Halifax, Fylde to mention a few. The Fan base is there and will turn out if the Team reciprocates the performance on the pitch. Hopefully more will start to return to the Technique Stadium if JR continues the new invigorated enthusiasm. Be nice to see if we are allowed at Solihull over the festive season if we drop into Tier 2.
There aint no Soul left in these old shoes... since you've been gone

So many to choose from.

It's not as well heralded but as a 14yo I remember being at Shrewsbury for the FA Cup game in 89/90. The team and the fans behind the goal were absolutely incredible that day.

I remember it well. One of my favourite games ever.

Not sure how we didn't score 5, never seen so much pressure come from us in one half before. Dan Gardner was unplayable.

About 3000 packed into the away corner at Grimsby in the relegation season was incredible (the game wasn’t)

I am trying to block that nightmare out of my mind thanks lol

Only saving grace was that at least the weather was fine and not the usual wet windy and cold Blundell Park scene

The away support under Cook was the best I've ever known it. I'd fully expect us to far outweigh home fans at most matches in this league if we ever get on a roll and look like getting promoted

Arthur Cox era was the best support home and away.

Best away days in numbers for me were Stoke and Liverpool (1st game) when we took 9000 to each in the cups.

Walsall away when Lormor scored that screamer...

Notts away in the Anglo Scottish Cup final, stewards had to open an extra section of terracing to fit us all in.

If either of these refer to the fa cup game '68 I'd agree, also an excellent following in the previous round at chester.
Got to agree with Lindave re Liverpool and Stoke
Considering the distance and evening fixture the trip to an alien country for the Rangers game deserves a mention.

Yep was there that day and we played well that day topped off by that goal and celebration. Bolton away in the cup run was a decent turn out and night as well.

The match where we drew to stay up there was great- I think we were the last set of fans in that there old stand.
These go to eleven.

for me this has to be up there , one of my first matches in 1968 , there were 2 special trains and 7000 town fans , lost 2-1 but a fantastic following

It was certainly entertaining, from my view.
