Chesterfield Captain

“I’ve been asked about the possibility of a club captain. For me, each and every player has a responsibility, not only to do good work on the pitch, but also to make himself available for community work and charity work.“Therefore, we will not be having a club captain, as every player we have will fulfil that role with energy, enthusiasm and total commitment to all charities, community work and of course the paying public, at home or away and wherever we play.”
We have NEVER before had a mangager who has put in print "as every player we have will fulfil that role with energy, enthusiasm and total commitment to all charities, community work and of course the paying public, at home or away and wherever we play.”
What a refreshing change......thanks Martin !

Comfortable on the ball, breaking most of their attacks up and getting forward aswell.
Maybe he has found his level?
Maybe MA can get something out of him that JL couldn't?
Maybe the style of football we play suites his game better?
We'll see. But I hope that people will be man enough to accept that IF he has a good season they will acknowledge it.
Seem to recall he did that last preseason looked a player to get a contract also seemed to look different again v Blackpool (Newport) when he came on last season
72+ points Play off's

Saying that, I have no idea how awful conference midfielders are so he could be a revelation this year 😳

He is obviously not that type of player according to MA and I will back his judgement on the matter

I think this is good news for Maguire. I had fully expected our 38 year old to be captain and chosen ahead of Larry, but maybe that's not the case.

I'm sure MA has enough experience to ignore rumours or what's gone before and give everyone a clean slate and judge how he sees, after all it's him who will get it in the neck if it goes tits up again.

Judging by how they performed on the pitch most of the players were devisive as they certainly didn't play as a team very often.
However, didn't both Jack and Evo have him as their captain?

i know. he's a bad football player and all he does is bark orders at people who are better than him
(in reply to metallilad of course ill hold my hands up and say well done if he's done well at the end of the season, i hope he smashes it but i highly doubt it, and i hope youre man enough to admit when he's poor)

H comes across as being very ameable but I don’t think you would want to get on the wrong side of him
