I didn’t think he did much until the last 20 when he really came into it. Probably be gone in January as part of paying for the start of jack’s rebuild.

Mitchell looked poor against Clay Cross.

I thought Barry had his best game for the club. He got into good forrad positions and provided the width. If he could just stop crossing the ball into the kop or hitting the first man then perhaps there's summat to work on. He's got pace but no end product.

It was Rowley's central run which led to the free-kick resulting in McCourt's goal but, other than that, I agree with you.
In fact, Briggs was more involved in the first half, and Rowley came more into it after the introduction of O'Grady.
In view of the lack of wingers at the club and Rowley being better suited to a No10 role I do wonder if once Binnon-Williams is match fit whether or not we should be looking at something like a 4-3-1-2 formation to accommodate this.

Kellett and Rowley swapped positions at the beginning of the second half. It's surely evident now that Joe is the best attacking midfielder at the club. He should just be given a free hand to get on the ball at every opportunity in any attacking part of the pitch, with the others rotating to provide balance. A bit like Law at Bradfud.

Weren't you the one championing the young Rowley well before his name appeared on the wider scene? If it was you mate well done, he's a genuine star in the making, oh and by the way can you give Branston some pointers if you ever see him!

All the old fogeys watching youth football championed him. He's filling out now anawl. I happened to see him alongside Sam Hird yesterday, and he's taller.
That run (thankfully included on the highlights), at full pelt, ball under control, into 4 of their defenders, was fearless. Then a little shimmy and a controlled shot. Wonderful.

The problem we have is that we are a league two club, and ergo the fee we will receive will be far less than if we were a league one outfit. Dele Ali fetched around £5M, didn't he? I believe the record for a league two player is nearer £2M.

Absolutely. An unproven youngster will be worth a few 100k punt with add ons for a championship club to wrestle away from a poor team at the bottom of Div 2. He's unlikely to warrant a higher fee unless he utterly tears the league up from now on. Once the bid comes in his head will be turned (understandably) by the lure of Championship football. Hopefully, he'll slip under the scouts' radars for a season or two.
