Chill out youth. This is a football forum. More specifically it's about Town. If you want to put the world to rights do it somewhere else.

Tbf he's on about Hughes and people do have differing views on him. Don't see any harm in a debate on a football forum about Hughes particular case.

What people seem to be saying is that if someone has served their time they should be forgiven.

Probably not no. But like I said....It would be a biased view.

Of course it would. Are not all views biased? As I said earlier we are human and as such all views/opinions are biased to our own personal beliefs. It's in our nature. Is not killing an adult just the same as killing a child in the eyes of the law? Yes, but don't we apply different criteria on what should be the said punishment in our biased views to such things? I personally do.

It's all been said a million times before and it's boring.

well, Mattthespireite said that Hughes should be allowed to get on with his life, which includes playing football, and you said that meant that Matt must have forgiven him. Which it didn't.

Let's get back to Hughes though. He didn't murder anybody. He didn't go out that night with the intention of killing anyone. It was a mistake and one I'm sure Hughes himself is to this day horrified at what he did. He served the punishment handed down to him and is getting on with his life. Maybe his victims relatives still can't forgive him or whatever,I don't know. But does that mean everyone should be the same way inclined? What else can he do?

Of course he doesn't! And to get back at those that insult him from the terraces he does that silly dance in front of them when he's netted just to wind them up! And it does wind them up because I've witnessed it!

Has he at any time shown any remorse for taking a life? Did he not leave the scene of the accident?

The answer to that one is easy. He can accept that people will have increasingly polarised views of him.

You suggest he be worth a chance, I say he killed someone and then drove away before turning himself in a few days later before then lying in court.

You want young kids cheering that - I don't.

I said it would be a coup for Ilson if they signed him.
And I doubt young kids would even know of his past so I see absolutely no problem there. If they did know then they'd be cheering for him as a footballer not his past.
I wonder how many of his critics, who have obviously never made a mistake they wish they could erase, would cheer if he scored for the club they support. I don't expect anyone to be honest and admit they would tbh.
