There's been plenty of warning so I'd expect the covers to have been put on...

The covers were on the third of the ground that thaws the slowest. However the covers do nothing against snow.
There is an expectation that this might be gone before Saturday.

Having them on for 2/3 days with a thick layer of snow on top would do far more damage than good.
The snow insulates the pitch whilst still letting light and water through (photosynthesis anyone??)
If the snow doesn't melt in tomorrows 4-6 degree temps, then get a call out on peak for pitch clearers on Saturday morning, match on.

What, even if Morsy and Ryan are injured?. Would you prefer the cash or the points?.

Southend match, I remember it well. Dug the pitch out on the Friday morning, covers went on, we dug it out again on the Saturday morning...and we lost.

The snow offers better protection than the covers against heavy frost.Every faith in the groundstaff, match will be on.
