Not impressing the Northampton fans to say the least
Early days I suppose and in sounded like they were playing him in an advanced role as a target man in his first game. I wonder if his loan may be terminated early.

Genuine question. Were you expecting him to impress?

He needs to if he wants to get a look in here. Northampton have some decent players so it's not like he's playing in a team full of rubbish.

Can't see it personally he seems to have peaked and started to go backwards.

I feel a bit sorry for the lad as he played well last season albeit in a lower league and was very unfortunate to pick up that bad injury in the jpt final but...
After his return to fitness I expected more from him this season and he hasn't delivered. I had hoped a good run in the cobblers team may get him match sharp and back on track but from the sound of it not to date!
At the risk of being controversial I don't think Gardner has pulled any trees up yet either and can see both leaving at the end of the season if they don't make an impact. I know they both have another year on their contracts but don't see cookie being sentimental and carrying squad players when the budget is tight!
Hope they both prove me wrong but on current form neither compare to raglan who I guess is on a similar wage...

As you say "seems" to be
I'm sure you'll be joining me in hoping he isn't

Yes if his attitude to the game changes
No if if he thinks he can pinch a living

It would seem odd that having dropped out of league football once and scrambled back into it he would do it again through an attitude problem

I like to see all our players do well but there comes a time when sentiment and loyalty go out of the window. All visible evidence appears to show no improvement and since his injury he's become very nesh. I think when you wear bright green boots, you need to get stuck in as it's more obvious when you aren't putting your foot in. Personally based on nothing more than gut feeling I think he will be gone in January.
Cook also likes to deal with the players direct without anyone else butting in.

Prior to his injury, I don't think anyone could accuse him of lacking in self confidence!
I'm guessing he's found it extremely difficult to adjust to life in division 1, perhaps the role is too big for him & as a result, his confidence is shot to pieces. I hope the lad can re-establish himself as a first team contender.

Presumably at the request of CFC. I wonder if PC is hoping to turn him into the 'spare' striker we badly need. If it's his first game in that role there's no wonder he failed to impress, but I can't see Northampton being very happy to try our experiments for us.

Are you actually infering that pc has requested banks position whilst on loan? Laughable you may be able to put some form of gametime deal in place but to tell a pro club what position as well is ludicrous and simply will not happen.

The gaffer's learnt from last year when playing an unfit Evo led to a disruption in the progress. He said in hindsight he wished he'd shipped the captain out on loan to make those mistakes there and get fit. Ollie needs a run of games that he won't get here right now, but come January, he'll be needed and he'll be fit. How the cobblers choose to use him is up to them. I think we should just let Ollie be Ollie.
And for those who think that recovery from foot surgery should see you as you were right away, think back to 2002 and a world cup game. A certain D. Beckham esq. jumped out of a tackle (after recent surgery to a metatarsal). A few passes later, Brazil scored and England were on their way out. It happens to the best of us...

Evatt looked slow and cumbersome on his return but he never looked like he lacked commitment or application. He looked liked he'd totally gone but the effort was there.

I think the problem is that if he is playing as badly as their supporters claim, Banks may get many more games at Northampton.
If so he would be better back here for all concerned. We may need him over Christmas however poorly he's playing
