Don't know if it means anything but when I was at the club earlier before young spireites, all the players were still in their training stuff apart from Jimmy Ryan.

That could be a clue, and theoretically a simple one to cover with Gobern. Cook would have to slot him alongside Samy in the formation we want to see.

His weekend off was sorted with that yellow card the other night.

IMO morsy hasn't been his usual brilliant self, probably more down to the team not performing how they can though.

You must be joking. Morsey has been our best performer. He's a class act and will unfortunately be sold this Jan imo.

Phew that's a relief as at least we'll be able to keep Morsy when we sell Morsey.

Cook is blaming low confidence. Confidence does play a massive part in anything but can't increase the speed of slow centre backs. I'm only able to go by what I read on here, but would Raglan make up the pace lacked by Evatt? How do people think he'd fare alongside Magritte (probably spelt wrongly but better than calling him "Pizza." How would you feel if you read this board and supporters couldn't be bothered spelling your name, instead naming you after a common junk food?) Neither have feet firmly in place in Our first team...this worries me. Morsy, however, could be a player whose form has dipped through lack of confidence by the sounds of it - and if Ryan is out, I don't expect it to buck up. A difficult conundrum set in a game I feel we really need to win. What say you regulars ( I rely on you to a great extent, you know...)

Nope, he didn't dominate the game against Swindon or Walsall like he can do, and going off what a couple of mates said who went to Colchester, he had his worst game for us down there.

Not criticising because like you say, he is without a doubt our best player, it's probably more down to the team under performing.

Evatt was a Centre Half at Derby prior to Roy Mac's thankfully short-lived experiment of playing him in midfield.

Roy Mac knew he had no chance of signing another CB either, so brought him in as a CM, where we were short. Once a few games passed him by, and Roy was 'forced' to play him a CB, we'd "stumbled" on a gem who'd make (and give) the club a lot of money.

He wouldn't have lasted long as midfielder.

Started out as a midfielder.

A bad one.

No Ryan, Banks starts. Johnson on the bench.

A bit harsh, he could play football just wasn't mobile enough for central midfield.

Is that official? Now got a bad feeling about this match if that's the case.Cook's a stubborn ***...was going to stay up but now I'm reconsidering - 2am in a foul mood doesn't whet the appetite too much...

Can't believe the word 'g i t' is banned! :o

Seriously by and large people have been slating Paul Cook for a while now for tinkering with the team, if it ain't broke don't fix it etc. and now we are talking of putting an inexperienced CB at RB, a DM at CB and our Best available RB at RM? Absolutely crackers, we have three defensive midfielders available to us right now and gobern isn't in the top two, why on earth do we have to drop one of Ryan or morsy to accommodate a player who has so far looked inferior???????

He didn't drop Ryan to accomodate Gobern though, as they both started in midweek.

We seriously lacked an attacking presence in CM until Johnson came on, so he drop Ryan to accomadate Banks today, who also tried to provide some height in the final third too.

Sadly. Apart from protecting a rarely tested back 4, the change didn't seem to have Any effect from an attacking point of view.

Not had chance to read much as I'm just back from a day in the Icelandic countryside, how we're we? Doesn't seem like the best result on paper but might not be the case. Any quick update would be appreciated

Lion share of possession, created little against a poor side.
