505 plus E1. Hopefully a few more will go over the coming days as people go down to get their Notts tickets. The club don't want to shout too loud about the availability - perhaps make a bit of a song and dance Saturday AM on Facebook/Twitter when Blunts are less likely to amble down.

I'd be tempted to make e1 available to season ticket holders only, and don't shoot me down in flames, then they could get the tickets for genuine cfc supporting mates..good idea or not?

Looks like it is going to be an interesting afternoon.
What should have been done to prevent this?

Was always going to be the case that some would buy in the home end given how quick they sold their allocation.

That being said there hasn't been a massive rush is sales so can't assume hundreds have bought just yet, a bit disappointing we didn't sell out sooner and before they put theirs on sale.

Any disturbance caused that can be located to specific seats the offenders can be identified and located through the card details used to pay if bought online.

Think you are making this a mountain out of a molehill. If they are in the home seats then they will have to sit like church mice or they could find themselves ejected for their own safety.

How do you distinguish between a Chesterfield blunt and a spireite when selling tickets.

God I hate this league.

What can be done? When the club tried for similar games in the past they've been criticised for making it to hard and folk miss out. Things like only season ticket holders can buy additional tickets after loyalty cards and stubs from previous games have had a go.

It's no different to what a lot of us did at mansfield and Burton last season.

Maybe residents of Chesterfield and district should have bought the tickets and filled OUR areas with OUR supporters. I don't think we can really complain if we don't take up our allocation - it isn't as if the teamt aren't playing well enough to deserve our full support.

Just asking a question as to what could have been done to prevent it...that's all!
Coz if trouble kicks off, the club WILL get penalised...again.

Couldn't agree more.

However, as I no longer live in Town, what if anything has been done to promote the game through the local media, Peak FM etc to address the apathy that appears to exist at the moment with some of the absent fans?

Obviously not enough - the quality of our current squad should be trumpeted from the rooftops, but IMO our local media is letting the team down.

Maybe, but the club PR should look to exploit the media too, after all Peak FM is a Commercial station and makes its money through advertising as we do through ticket sales, a bit of effort after the sale to MK Dons stub holders wouldn't have gone a miss.

Agree with that. I do also think that both local radio and newspapers might boost their consumer numbers and therefore their commercial value by highlighting local rivalries. They could provide historical context by publicising head to head records, highlighting previous encounters, interviewing past players and supporters who recall previous games, profiling players from both sides, recording predictions etc. There are many ways in which these matches could be given a higher profile, to the benefit of both the club and the media outlet.

It's odds and sods, they'll be quite, agree E1 should be controlled sales though, maybe not online.

Well they do ask your address, I dont live in Town or Sheffield. So I bought one. I thought they could ask a few security questions Anything based on knowledge of the club or the area.
Having said that, I just rang up other clubs when we had to go in the home end no bother

All irrelevant when you can purchase online without speaking to anyone.

I suppose all this just proves the ground is the right size for us and how daft if would be spending money on filling the corners in.
