Not sure the transfer policy is that flawed, could do with a decent striker but since it’s started they’ve been promoted from league 1, made the championship playoffs and on the brink of the playoffs this season. They’ve also got clubs looking at numerous players including potentially trebling their money on Jack Clarke.

Don’t go looking at what qpr and rangers fans say about Beale if what’s online currently bothers you.

Newcastle had a similiar transfer policy under ashley and long term it never worked but and parallels with managers too like when alan pardew was at newcastle in the sense that the fans hated him from day one putting him on a hiding to nowt. Felt it for poor bloke all the stick he got

He's not been there long, one of the younger English coach types that went in...they might go abroad for one to annoy a certain someone on here now!

Actually looks like they are going to appoint Neil Harris which means he will have managed in the Championship, League 1 and League 2 in the same season!

Re-appoint, hasn't he already done them once? Sometimes works sometimes doesn't, we've been there 4 times now, Teddy Davidson, John Duncan (worked both times, second time ended badly though), John Sheridan (worked at first then went wrong, then didn't work at all) & Paul Cook (he's not the messiah but he's blooming close!).

I thought he might have been, definitely played for them but couldnt remember if he'd managed there as well. Suspect it may have been his first managerial position.

He managed there for a few years- a real club legend - and one of the nicest guys in football too.

Cook needs the Prem on his CV to have done the top 5 divisions, IIRC Harry Bassett might have got them all?

Alex Bruce gone at Macc

Surely Neil Warnock has done the top 5 divisions aswell. He definitely brought Scarborough up from the conference to the football league.

I thought Dave Bassett was the manager of Wimbledon when they entered the league?

Dave Bassett followed Dario Gradi as Wimbledon manager in 1981. Wimbledon joined the league in 1977-78 season with Alan Batsford as manager.

He has done all 6 levels if you include his time at Gainsborough in the Northern Premier League before the league restructure to include the National League North & South level. Went from division 3 to the old division 1 with Notts County, saved Torquay from relegation from the league and now in the SPL with Aberdeen. He's also managed in the 3 separate countries that make up Great Britain with his spell at Cardiff.
