Yep, Clucas is a marginally offside from the header when he challenges for the ball it seems.

Good decision.
I wish our defenders moved out like that with such military precision when defending corners. Still, never mind.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Thanks for that Rob, had to work. Byron was very calm under pressure and took his chance well. Hope he gets to start on a regular basis as he could be just what we need up front with Clucas in the hole could be a good partnership.

Tough start to his Chesterfield career & criticised.... Obviously going through an emotional time & soooooo glad he got the winner tonight. His confidence will have risen 100%..don't be surprised to see him score more important goals...he must be buzzing

Until he scored, we had 2 prats behind us slagging him off shouting at him to get stuck in. Apart from the goal, he showed some very good touches and he was getting stuck in.I'm confident he will turn out to be another one of Cook's gem signings at sometime in the future.

Our defenders did good enough when they let their attacker drift offside from the late free kick that Tommy punched out.
In any event have you seen the highlights, and the disallowed effort in particular? Precision from their defenders? Ha! They are a shambles, chasing the ball and leaving their positions on the posts. Unfortunately Clucas is asleep and doesn't follow.

Great awareness to get to the ball, some forwards wouldn't have had the awareness to gamble on that
A new hope.

They did do well in that instance.
the whole point about playing offside is to leave players unmarked.

That's the point though isn't it, good strikers do gamble on mistakes.

With method, not like under 10s chasing the ball. There was no way their players purposely played Clucas offside. If Clucas hadn't gone for the ball, there was a good chance we could have had the Rooney situation where the referee ruled he hadn't 'sought an advantage' and our effort stood as a goal.

And really good strikers always seem to know where the ball's going before the last defender has even played it, which is what Harrison did.
Early days yet, but it's good to see the lad looking so sharp. I couldn't understand all the criticism he got on the basis of the few short appearances he made, and I still don't think we've seen enough to start counting the transfer fee, but there's talent there and he's come to the right place to bring it out.

I have my doubts that Harrison has got what it takes long term, but I would like dearly to be wrong, and he has got to get a few more games on the clock first. He took the goal well, but as for his anticipation, fair play to him for getting in between the defender and keeper, but the header back was absolutely signposted.

Unbelievable, the kid does well and you find something to denigrate his good work

No, just a balanced view. He isn't a child, he is a professional footballer. He should have anticipated the header back. But, as I said, he took the goal well, particularly on a sticky pitch. And if the goal settles him down, brilliant.

Would Nanndo have anticipated it.

That is a good question! Not sure he should be the benchmark for what Harrison should aspire to though.

He isn't, it's a simple question to offer an opinion and in mine the answer is pretty obvious.
