who looks like has been released from bristol city, he was not good enough for us by the looks of things and not good enough for another club in our league so why have we lost another one, there is no point having players who are not better then we already have..

Colin larkin wasnt good enuf for a club in the league below, mark Allott wasnt good enuf for a club in our league.
If he is an actual left winger who stays on the left hand side of the pitch and give the team some width he is probably better than anything we have.....

It's a luxury we can't afford Skaw. Ok Smith and (the recent) Hurst haven't cut it when playing, but we do have two players who play specifically on the left wing, and even Hall, Allott and Larkin have been tried there, but we have just two central midfielders at the moment (+ Gaz who isn't providing much competition) and we are over budget, so if we do manage to squeeze one more signing, surely it should be to provide competition for Niven and Allott?

have to agree though look at some of the player we've had over the years who have proved people wrong (or right)
It's amazing what a change in club can do for a player

Completely agree we cant afford it now, and any signing should be a midfield general/playmaker. I still question the wisdom on our budget of shinners, blatherwicks and chiefs contract renewals. And the wisdom of bringing back hurst as a first choice winger given his obvious inconsistancy. Shinner and Blatherwick are already proving that they are gona miss games this year and being two of our top earners this has to be a problem. I believe Chief will be similar in that his fitness wont be sufficient for the entire season. However I am unsure we could have replaced these vital players so its kind of a no win situation. I certainly wasnt unhappy with the blatherwick and Chief offers.

i don't think larkin is good enough for us but thats my opinion, allott was not good enough as a strilker and thats were he was playing for oldham and he was not good enough for us as a striker but we got a bit lucky he has been transformed in to a good 1st division midfielder...
