Have to agree Denton was dire today, but so were the rest of them, with the exception of Williams and Rowe. Big difference came when Weston was subbed, and as for the long ball stuff it's down to the manager to see that they use it sparingly. As the get-out option for an under pressure defence it has its place , but it shouldn't be the only option. Passing through midfield should be the main tactic - anybody remember the last time that happened, with or without Denton.
Denton, as has often been said, should be used as a latish sub when facing a packed defence, and when he's used they have to play to his strength, which is in the penalty area. At the moment the penalty area seems to be out of bounds, and they'll do almost anything to avoid putting the ball in there, including not crossing and not shooting.
