Excellent signing or should I say signings. It'll be very interesting to see who comes in next, be it a full back, apprentice to Mike Jones or a goalkeeper, I trust Cook to get it right.

I really liked DW - had quite a few arguments with those who, for some reason didn't rate him. I'm not sure Madden has Danny's eye for a defence - splitting pass, but he's a very good signing who will score goals regularly.

Very different players in my eyes. Whitaker a ball carrying creative midfielder. madden = goal scorer.

Cracking signing, will he rotate with Grigg or play just behind him.

Grigg getting injured showed how we lacked a goal threat without him, and I'm not disrespecting Quigley.
Quigley was great as an impact player last season but never the same consistency from the start, although I would say at Watford he was exceptional.

Would like to strengthen now in defence, pace especially key in them areas.

From what I've seen of League 2 play offs, we should be confident of getting in and amongst it next season.

I’ve managed to miss it both times. Phil Tooley said it’ll be on YouTube soon enough.

Edit: it just came on and stopped after about 30 seconds in and went to the news instead. Brilliant work by whoever runs the station, really impressive stuff, well done.

I dont think i’ve been this excited so early on in a close season. Very impressed by the signing of Madden. We need, and management know, defensive recruits to stop the ball going in our net. Very much looking forward to see who comes in, both at full back and central, as well as keeper.

I spoke to a Cov supporting mate about him who said he would be a good signing for us and the second half i saw him against Leeds for Blackburn a few weeks ago on Sky he looked very capable. Yes he is getting on a bit but he looked he would do a good job for us.

Blackburn had the 3rd worst defence in the championship last season, he was part of that, he's 37yr old and on the decline..

We're going to have a team full late-twenty, thirty-somethings with 5 teenagers,maybe, on the bench.Posted Image

He was great against Leicester on the last day as well but we shouldn't let that get in the way of one of spireitetoo's pearls of wisdom.

Depends who he most wants to sign for. He has a few suitors (all in leagues above us....)

However he only joined them in Feb having made 20 odd appearances for a Coventry side up the other end of the table. Blackburn had conceded 55 goals in 29 games prior to his arrival at 1.89 goals per game. They then conceded 15 in 17 games after he arrived at 0.94 goals per game after he arrived of which he featured in 11 of those 15 games. That would suggest he improved things at the back for them.

So a team in the Championship want to keep him, potentially other higher placed teams want him but he wouldnt do a job for us....hmmm....

Potentially location could come into it if we did want him, he's from fairly local to here and there was talk of him wanting to be closer to home so depends on where that other interest is from.
