On Friday, August 3, a Goalkeepers of Chesterfield event will be held in the SBK Spires Restaurant at the Proact Stadium.

The event will include the following:

Two Course Meal
Q&A with former Chesterfield Goalkeepers including England’s 1966 World Cup winning keeper, Gordon Banks
Funds on the night will be raised for the Trust, tickets are £30 for the event and the arrival time is 7pm for a 7:30pm start. To get your tickets, visit www.ticketsource.co.uk and search ‘Chesterfield FC Goalkeepers’ to find the event.

Met Gordon at a fundraiser for the pub football team I briefly played for (White Hart at Calow, made about 4 very poor sub appearances) 88/89 ish, great bloke.

I remember him playing at the Markham Pit Disaster fundraiser in 197?? - top bloke then. I seem to recall being on the pitch as a very youngster - school / u11s if I recall correctly...... might even have scored a penalty past him....

Gordon Banks played against us in the cup in the early seventies. Then he came back and did a penalty shoot out for an open day in the very early 80s got his autograph on both occasions great bloke
Can't salute yer can't find a flag if that don't suit yer that's a drag
