Then why bring in jacobs, ( who is yet to have a good game, or make an impact off the bench) on a most likely decent wage, instead of bringing in a defender... he's to blame for our signings...

I’ve not heard the interview but he’s not necessarily saying a defender has to go out, is he?

I’d be inclined to think without moving Rowe and/or Asante on, no new personnel in now.

Yes, and even if he does want rid of Maguire, I really think he needs to swallow his pride (at least for the short term) and bring him into the team on Monday in the hope of seeing a similar improvement this year.

Last season prior to Maguire's return to the team (which did include sporadic appearances) we conceded 43 goals in 34 games, after his full return in March we conceded 9 in 12 games (which included the weird 3 against York). (not including the play-off games)

Neither have I but doesn’t it just show he’s making it up as he goes along. His reaction is like us supporters but he should be one step ahead and not two behind. We deserve a bit more foresight from a manager who has had a big budget which he’s used like a kid in a sweet shop, overloading the attacking options and also bringing in a buddy on the already overweight coaching staff.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again amongst the defenders in our current squad Maguire has been sadly overlooked. Maybe he isn’t the ultimate solution but he showed last year that he was key to shoring up our defensive weaknesses and was key to bringing us back from a poor run of form. Unfortunately he’s neither a drinking buddy nor a player from his previous clubs

If Asante had his long term injury problem resolved by a relatively minor operation several weeks ago, then he should be good to go (in both senses of the phrase) by now.

FFS we don’t need any new personnel other than maybe a CH, we need our 4 coaches (yes 4!!) who I assume are on a decent whack each, to coach the obvious talent we have into a team that can create enough chances to win a game.

You can’t expect clubs to be queuing up to take an injury prone Asante, an ageing and unwell Rowe, and a pretty average CH. Should be planning transfers accordingly, and as above, potentially not signing Jacobs in place of the problem positions that needed strengthening.

If you were in their position and earning a good wage for nowt, why would you go?

players he bought in Hobson Curtis a third choice keeper Chadwick who are doubtful to get starts not that they will be on massive wages but surely they need loaning out to get game time won't free up a big wage but some money to at least go towards a defender that can defend ?
