Likes he's been the last few weeks nice to see him attacking the ball again and he soon sorted Ellison out today
Just a pity it didn't appear to be his job to cut out the cross for their goal

In Chesters case then, practice makes perfect. And we definately don't learn by our mistakes.

Their was only two men in contention, the man that won it and the man you went for! Both had very good games (shame about the rest of um!); I'd also go along with you and say that Downes shaded it!

I'd have given it to Niven - terrific at breaking up their attacks, delivered some excellent passes, and even did well when played out of position on the right wing. And, as ever, by far the fittest bloke on the field.

Agree, with Page alongside him i think we have signs of a perfect partnership which could be the route upwards, providing we can keep that pairing. Early days yet but Downes looked miles better at the moment and with page's experience and communication between them i think that could lead to improvements at the back.
If Rico would have started with the team that finished the game i reckon we'd have come away from Saltergate a lot happier with 3 points. We needed Tex's height for set pieces and his run showed he does have some pace - i have doubts about him starting a game just yet but as i say we clearly need that big man in the box for set pieces, the midfield improved as soon as kerry and winter entered the field - can't see why Kerry started on the bench as he's been missing while he's been suspended. Boden didn't do anything for me, he kept making errors and their goal came about due to his foul.
The most frustrating part for me was Jack getting caught offside so many times, with chief's knowledge of our side and the fact that without Jack we tend to struggle, the plan to put Lester out of the game worked wonders for them, i can't recall anything jack did today, but the times he gets himself offside is something he should be better at given his experience in the game. Good job we've got Jamie as well. I'd be suprised if Jack does so well this season, i expect him to be marked out of more games this season.
Now for the straw clutching... 2 draws on the trot means two games undefeated, once we win a game and the players get some self confidence we may be able to turn this god damn awful season around but with how we're playing currently it's hard to see when the next win is going to come.
As for rico i think he has to go as the crowd is firmly against him and we're stuck in a winless rut. Even if he won 5 games on the trot i doubt many people would change their opinion, but i don't think that is going to happen as i never does. We desperately needed a win today and while i'm never too disappointed with a draw after going a goal down today it's just feels so depressing as we are experiencing the same mistakes time and time again and with Lincoln to come and then a midweek home tie to Aldershot it's hard to see how things are going to improve while rico is in charge and a new face my be just enough to lift everyone.

If only he could have sorted himself out last season when he made rico look like a clown for keeping faith with him.

Scott Sellars told my mate when he went for work experience with Chesterfield that Aaron Downes was the fittest player in the team.
