"The geezer on radio Sheffield wasn't interested, just wanted to know when the FFFF we're moving"

It was definatley a woman, Antiona Brickell of the top of my head?? She just happens to have a deep voice!!!

Mr Spireite, on any BBC radio show they have a listen back facility, if you were smart enough then you may have used this option and listened back for free which is something Denny mentioned, however either you weren't aware of this facility or you are just moaning for moanings sake.

As a licence payer to the BBC I couldn't care less if Sheffield FC or Cheltenham Town use a five minute interview about gardening in the local area on a breakfast show on local radio.

You have the link to listen to the interview, If you listened to it you might wonder what the dickins your getting your knickers in a twist about. But of course it's not the interview thats the point is it with you?

Well it seems a strange argument to me, CFC had permission to stream the audio, if you do not wish to pay for a service that includes all commentry, goals etc. I understand, but some of us who live OUTSIDE the area do!

If the club wishes to keep us informed about things like this, as an ADDED BONUS, then i for one am very pleased (Don't people complain about the lack of info coming out of the club?).

The original argument stands, if you dont want to be included in ALL interviews, match action, commentry & ANY OTHER EXTRAS, then dont subscribe. LISTEN TO WHATS AVAILABLE FREE ON THE RADIO & WATCH TV HIGHLIGHTS & INTERVIEWS at the BBC, ITV etc own scheduling times.

But do not come on here MOANING ABOUT NOTHING when you miss it & the subscribers have the chance of a replay.

I understand your argument in a twisted way, but to use another example, you can watch any film or program on the BBC when it is programmed to be on free. But if you subscribe to a pay per view channel you can watch it anytime, ie UK GOLD, Living etc. Yes, they have agreed a fee with the BBC, in this case permission was given free gratis.

By the way we should all be tax payers through the license fee isnt that the law? But world subscribers CHOOSE to pay for extras that YOU obviously do not.

right,
so we shouldn't bother putting anything up in the future?

I guess it's as much done this way as the club has the facilities in place to put audio on the world site.

as it is, it's turning into the non-competative sports day argument, you kids can't play footy cos the other class hasn't got a ball and they would get upset. wah, wah! The people with spire-world shouldn't get to listen to things because the people who haven't signed up will be awl upset. bah!

As a long term subscriber to world - mainly cos the club gets more pennies out of the ptv people than i give to the ptv guys. I think it's nice to have a few extra things to listen to. and if an extra person signs up to world for the curiosity, then that's more money for the club which is surely a good thing?

or would you rather the club not get the money?

also what about the goals videos, they are available for free on the telly or by signing up to world - should they be outlawed too?

Denny

I couldn't give a toss about Spireites World to be honest, don't subscribe to it because like you say you can see the goals usually on TV and sometimes on Youtube. Indeed the club do get money from SW but I think the point is that is this SW legal because it does not infringe on the BBC's broadcast rights which is a TV/Radio station funded by the state through payments by licensees.

Do CFC have the legal rights to again charge a subscription to hear/see something provided by the BBC which was made available Free ? Remembering that the BBC are not profiting from a service which cost them to put together in the first place ?

If the club had put together the audio with no involvement of the BBC then I don't think people would be saying anything......

Obviously reading doesnt come easy, i think the answer there is YES as stated above in my previous post. Again i will say charging is a red herring once its in the public domain & you have FREE Gratis permission to broadcast you can charge £10k per listen if you like!!

Yes you can if you ask the BBC for permission to do that & they say YES, like the club did!!!!
......Lord save us he says making the sign of the cross.

By the way just a small point but CFC do have the sole digital rights to broadcast club info over the internet through the Football League, NTL & FLPTV, remember thats what bidding is about, the BBC do not, unless they have permission from the Club.

As this interview was given by the CFC Press Officer, that actually gives us the digital rights & we therefore allowed the BBC to braodcast the interview over the radio airwaves.

Have a think about that one then ;)

F F S.....look I can see what your argument is, but the club quite rightly asked if they could use the interview for the Spireites World listeners to be able to hear......who's decision it was is irrelevant really as it's the clubs right to broadcast anything they want via the Spireites World facility providing they ask permission of the parties concerned in this case Radio Sheffield or the BBC I presume it to be Radio Sheffield.

YOU can download any old guff from your PC providing you ask PERMISSION and have it granted then feel free my friend. By the way You Tube is not the perfect example of this.
