the bloke's posts seemed like the scrawlings of a madman. he didn't seem to be in a sound mental state at all

I certainly don't think he should be free to post on here without his posts being moderated - for his own sake and for everyone on the board.
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

When the misery is over, those who have chosen to side with Mr. Allen and Mr. Carson will be remembered for a long time to come.

Best of it is I can't remember saying what was alleged, I think I may have been the victim of Ashley Carson's Hacker

I cannot believe the absolute depths of that someone who you tried to help disclosing private conversations. It is disgraceful. Truth be told it is that sad individual who is at fault and has caused this mess. I feel for you and maybe communication with DA might stop this before it goes further?

Sadly this seems to be symptomatic of the current climate on Sheff Road, Les.

But I'd agree with what others have said - how can you be possibly be pursued for what were private opinions?

If one person sends a false statement to another individual who then repeats and tells others the false statement. If it's then proven that the untruth caused the victim to suffer harm in anyway, it can be considered libellous

He should be free to explain openly why he has done such a deed.

In fact if he’s reading......

There's some very interesting info on Google.
One says.....if a private letter containing a libel is lost by Royal Mail and opened by a stranger who then redirects it to the 'victim' then that can be libellous.

There are numerous examples of people being caught up in what start out as private messages via the Facebook messenger service.

The facts appear to be that a maximum of 2 people other than Allen have seen the message. I'd have thought that Allen's reputation amongst CFC supporters would be more damaged by pursuing this than by winning, but a lot depends on the actual content, which of course nobody has seen.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Agree but given how his last thread spiralled I think the mods ought to check his posts first. He could tempt others to make comments then go running to teacher

It's hard to see how much more Allen's reputation with CFC supporters could be further damaged ?

It's already lower than ground zero.

Week 343, day 4 in the CFC house..

2,405 days since Dave Allen became Chesterfield FC's chairman and the latest of a long list of scandals hit's the headlines. Another solicitors letter suing for libel lands through a fans letterbox..

Seriously how can anyone trust this man?? and as for the said 'poster' who Les tried to help, well words fail me!

So to sum up, les has sent something privately to the mouse trying to help him and the mouse has forwarded all this private correspondence onto DA? Seems a top lad this fella. Can see him making loads of friends today now this has all come out.

If you also read post #120 on the press conference thread it would appear he is well aware of who is going to get DAs solicitors missive before the recipient received it!

It seems to me, PMB has gone from being a mouse to mole.

He was threatened with legal action in the past by AC, and then recently had a sudden change of heart after trying to arrange another protest after Pauls, then suddenly came out in defence of AC and DA seemingly overnight.

I wonder if he had his collar felt again and then used this as a bargaining tool to save himself?!

Interesting difference in his response to legal stuff. The club he owns commits fraud with the raffle and no-one is brought to justice over it, indeed the rumored mastermind got a payoff and not so much as a slap on the wrist. A certain club employee makes threats to fans over twitter, in this day and age that is now a crime and again not so much as a slap on the wrist and we get some made up fantasy about hackers and it's allowed to slide. I'd go on but I'd be here all day.

However a fan makes private comments expressing his opinions about club issues which are not out in the open and remain known to but a few people and the lawyers are out sniffing around like bloodhounds.

I find his hypocrisy unbelievable. He's upset about things people say that aren't true or may cause distress but just a couple of weeks ago his number two was disclosing to fans that staff might not get paid at christmas, a situation that apparently the staff had no idea was on the table, no doubt causing plenty of anxiety and stress amongst them. It's not libelous but the principle remains the same, saying things that are not necessarily true but cause distress to those concerned in it.
If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything!

Has to be serious harm. Would suggest there may be a difference in that respect between a public post and a private conversation with one person.
