I have to say I didnt see where it was coming from - but then the most important thing for growth is encouraging people to invest, encouraging people to want to progress and giving them an environment in which they can do that. I agree that what we need is stable and not circus tricks - but we also need an environment that makes people want to take a chance, to push themselves. Nothing in the Labour manifesto does that, no talk of making child benefit rules better, no talk of making tax take rules fairer, no talk about getting rid of the 60% tax band and relocating that tax take to stop people avoiding promos that cost them child care and too much tax...
