So, remembering that Drew used to play as a Striker, what does the board think of him as a replacement for Ryan? Or possibly as a replacement for Roberts (if he leaves)?
Discuss.

Dean Saunders was rumoured to be ready to table a bid for him at Doncaster just before he left to go to Wolves. Drew was playing at right back then.
I think he'll be staying there.

Drew could fit in to that role, but has played his best for us at wingback IMO.End of the day it'll depend on how the squad takes shape close season.

So he used to play as a striker then he went to full back, sometimes wide right. He had a few games in a lower league in centre midfield so I'd say not a chance of Saunders wanting him for that role

RM?
If still here a Drew/Dave combo down the right would be pretty tasty.
Maybe he has seen Plymouth and thinks Drew can fit into CM?

I know nowt, but if this signing means that we can sell Tendayi and use the money to fund contract extensions to Morsy, Clucas, and Jimmy, and get a new CF in, then that would be A1 business.

Said it before and I say it again "Tendayi could play in Ryan's position" and I am confident he could do this better than Drew.
However, I think we are going to see two up top more often next season with only one defensive midfield player in a possible 4-1-3-2 and if we hold on to our two workaholics I envisage Tendayi on the right and Clucas on the left of the three.

Drew is one of those players that could fill in several roles, and has done in the past. He started out and has played up front, before being moved to right back. Last season Plymouth played him in centre midfield and then we used him at left back before he got injured. That he is so versatile and the type of character that he is, will prove what an important signing this is for next season. He just needs to avoid injury!

Dave doesn't have to leave, but I expect him to leave
1) he has value
2) length of time left on his contract
We will play a conventional 4-4-2 more often than not IMO opinion with Gardner and gboly as the flying wingers, balls played early into the channels and early crosses into the box. Drew and Jones at full back

Obviously, that depends on whether or not Gardner remains fit for more than two games on the trot.
Also, if we are to play with pace, which can be very exciting to watch, it would suggest that if Bury, or any other club, are prepared to pay £200k or more for Roberts it could be good business.
Regarding the likes of Tendayi & Morsy a lot depends on whether or not they can be persuaded to sign extensions to their existing deals otherwise the club will have no option than to sell to the highest bidder.

Yep, but we've already got an adequate replacement for Tendayi. Drew is L1 quality, but not Championship in my opinion. I would sell if the money is right. It's a great opportunity to strengthen in other areas.

I pretty much agree that's what will happen.
I just hope we are pulling the stops out to hold on to Morsy.
