A minute of “Ernie Ernie Ernie” as replacement tor either silence or applause is an absolutely cracking idea.
My humble view, for what it’s worth, is that Ernie Moss shouldn’t be remember by us fans with silence but with joyous cheering like he caused us to do all those times in his time at the club.

On the 8th minute

First home game next season there ought to something for the great man.

Maybe something different. No minutes silence or minutes applause but maybe a minute of “Ernie Ernie Ernie”

The minute applause - did that start with George best? Maybe Ernie can be the start of a new thing as well.

Ernie Ernie Ernie

Surely the whole point of the port Vale friendly is for it to be Ernie Moss day, he was well regarded by both clubs, I'm sure both clubs will honor the legend on that day.

Has there been any mention of funeral dates (thinking of there maybe a similar ground drive by like Kevin Randall’s)?

If he's a Crystal Palace fan, its a wonder he didn't mention 5 October 1974- a Crystal Palace riding high under Malcolm Allison, before a crowd of nearly 20,000, came up against Ernie at his best- Town coming out easy 4-1 winners courtesy of 2 goals from the big man, plus Kowalski and Darling. Heard from under the fedora in the dug out- for effs sake get the big number 8.

I remember that match very well one of those days when that team led by Ernie up front would have beat most teams in that league at the time
