Confirmed on Chesterfield FC social media

The sad new reaches us that our popular former player and assistant-manager Kevin Randall has passed away this evening at the age of 73. Our thoughts are with Kevin’s family and friends.

Never saw him in his prime, but saw him in a legends game at glapwell years ago, he was motm, best player on the pitch that night...

258 appearances for us and 96 goals from 1966-72.
Went on to score 39 goals in 121 appearances for Notts Co and 20 in 66 appearances for Mansfield, where he teamed up again with Ernie Moss

That's very sad.

I saw him play regularly - he was a great player alongside Ernie.

He used to live at and run a shop in Lower Pilsley with his wife in the late 1970s. He was a lovely chap.

I bumped into him a few years ago at a game and had a nice chat about those days.

Really very sad.
