Im always saddened when I hear about a fellow spireite passing and it's even harder when you know them.

Just found out recently that Brian Pell passed away after illness and I wanted to mention it here. I knew Brian as we had worked for the same company previously but I mostly saw him at away matches as I'm exiled now and I always looked forward to catching up. He was part of the away day experience for me.

I believe he is being cremated on Thursday and if anyone goes from here can you raise a glass to him from me. He was a scholar and a gent and I will miss talking football and shouting on the spireites with him.

RIP Brian.

Didn't know him personally but when I saw his picture his was a face I had seen many times around the ground. Deepest sympathy to his family and friends

I'm going, Brian was a lovely gent and I'll miss discussing football with him at the speakeasy on a Friday. He died on Saturday 5th May.

Hi Town Fan, Kimberley and myself organise the Bridge Inn away travel and through that we became very close and good friends of Brian and Pam over the last 5 or 6 years. Your words sum Brian up very well, a tremendous man who was so kind and would help anyone; he will be missed more than words can express.

We went to see Pam last night and she will read your comments on here which I am sure will offer some comfort at this most difficult of times.

I will certainly raise a glass for you in memory of Brian on Thursday; please make yourself known to us at a game next season and we can perhaps share a few memories.

All the best, Paul.

I first meet Brian travelling on the "Bridge" and soon learnt what a friendly and welcoming guy Brian was. The shock and sadness that overcame the bus when the sad news came through was testament to how liked and respected he was by all.

Sympathies to all

Did Brian once work as engineering maintenance manager at Dema glass? I was an apprentice fitter there and seem to recall his name.
