Moondog- are you still a moderator? Who else is on here -anyone know?

Yes, if you take a look at my profile on this posting you will see it referenced under group. This will enable you to see who else is a moderator, although they are listed at the bottom of the main page of the message board.

Incidentally Walton is wrong in that any of the moderators could have approved his postings not just me.

My personal view is he's not done enough to warrant that and he serves as a purpose as an example of how not to behave on a message board.

Don't agree. It's hard to construct a more offensive and pre-meditated post.

I take it you mean his original posting, I look at it if he'd shouted it in the stadium he would have got thrown out and wouldn't have received a permanent ban. similarly had he been a player giving such abuse he would have been sent off and following a suspension allowed back, but as a serial offender and grown up bloke he's running very close to being banned altogether.

Ha ha, yep, sorry. I don't give a xxxx what he says about me.

If he had shouted it in the stadium then Pemberton would have lamped him.

I just assumed he wasn’t all there. Because either he really believes the guff he writes or he’s doing it for effect and both of those are really worrying.

So what is the criteria for receiving a ban? Just so we can all be clear on we post and what others post is worth reporting because there doesn’t seem to be any consistency
A new hope.

The guidelines, which have always been available on the front page of this message board, are here.

This just supports DEATH's point though doesn't it? For example:

"Postings that contain asterisks or use other mechanisms to disguise swear words will also not be tolerated."

Er, well they seem to be tolerated as they appear all the time!

Yes and I'm sure you can find other examples too.

The point is they are guidelines where if anyone feels strongly enough they can report, there appears to be widespread tolerance as it's rare for anyone to bother.

Guidelines were probably written about 20 years ago to be fair. Hard to moderate consistently all the time, just don’t take the p**s and you’ll be rate. Walton was deffo extracting the urine with his post about JP.

So delete that guideline then (and other examples if there are any)?

Is it right to rely on the reporting process if anyone feels strongly enough given the known issues with this Board at the moment, which for example led to concerns that some people had over the recent post re Travellers going unaddressed for several days?

Does anyone really get offended by a few swear words that are usually said in jest, I understand using them offensively is another matter, but really...it's a football message board.

Kin'el 3 days after the first positivity in years and we're that used to moaning we have to introduce threads about clowns like ashmore and walton for the sake of normality.
