On his local radio interview Tisdale said he was satisfied with how they played but obviously not the result

Was he? I don’t think they were any good yesterday and will not be promoted playing like that.

I thought they were a decent team and Chesterfield stuck to a Game plan and ground out a good result.

The fact we were chasing the Ball down in every part of the field stopped them controlling the game. No matter where the ball fell there was a CFC player either within 1 yard of them or they were closed down with in seconds. We moved the ball quicker and we followed the ball. Even around Exeters box.

We only had Evatt with any height so we had to play football on the grass just how it is meant to be played,

I thought they were one of the slightly better teams we've played this year, and there was a 15 minute spell in the first half were I thought we were going to struggle to get anything from the game, so three points is most welcome!
East stand second class citizen.

Many of our former managers have been criticised for having no plan B, well Exeter's manager falls firmly in that category. Even with us down to ten men and a defeat staring them in the face, they still preferred to play it out from the back losing valuable time in the process when you would have expected long balls into our half. We battled and played very well and my only hope is that more teams have Exeter's game plan.

Agree that their manager showed surprising inflexibility. Everyone who has seen us play this season knows that our greatest weakness is against high balls into our area. I can only remember them trying that two or three times in the whole game. Fair enough- he wants his team to play football on the floor, but it played right into our hands as it failed to exploit our vulnerability.

Actually, I thought, they were one of the best, if not the best, teams to visit us this season. They were comfortable in possession all over the park and played a lot of excellent crosses into the box. However, these crosses never really picked out a man. Anyon's early save when they carved us open kept us in it and we showed similar determination all over the pitch to grind out the win.

While they were comfortable in possession they didn't build up much momentum in the game to force us onto the ropes for any kind of sustained period so I didn't feel we were playing a stronger team. I expected them to be better as top 3.

As someone who lives in Devon I can tell you that every Tisdale team's strength can also be its weakness. They keep playing their game. Do you remember when they were up top and we were mid-tablish (under Richo?) we went down to Exeter and scored six AND unusually for Exeter, seemed to demoralise them. BUT they came out, played their game next match usual style, won and got promoted. They are the Division 2 Arsenal, but devoid of stars and money.

The thing I'd think you'd have found is IF we had let them into the game Saturday they would have gone on to win. Whatever you are doing that keeps you on top against a Tisdale team, you must keep doing it and not relax. Once he gets a team to believe in what he's doing they are very difficult to shake out of it. BUT because of financial constraints, belief and style only take them so far. And once they lose that belief they lose their style and end up back down the lower reaches of Div 2.

As for Tisdale's fashion sense - as a club that has been successful under John Sheridan and Paul Cook I don't think we have even earned the right to comment.

Agree I'd feel a lot happier if they were in our dressing room.
God I hate this league.
