Interesting to see that FC Isle of Man, a brand new club have been admitted to the English Football pyramid (joining Jersey & Guernsey) at step 10. Based in Douglas they will play in the North West Counties South, as with the Channel Island clubs they have to pay opposition travel expenses. They have ambitions to get in the Football League in 10-12 years.

Incidentally AFC Bury will play in the NWCL South, even if Bury survive

I wouldn't be surprised to see Bury FC on Conference North next season.

I suppose they can afford to pay opposition travel, with the wealth on the Isle of Man. Lots of people live there as income tax rates are low. I thoroughly recommend the comedy film ‘Mindhorn’ which is based there. Jersey, on the other hand, is pretty much run by a local mafia, from what I hear.
These go to eleven.

Sounds like an excuse for a weekend there, Mark!

Looks a decent set up, and like Guernsey they pull in decent crowds too.

No chance this year, it's a shame the Isle of Man no longer host the pre-season tournament, seem to recall reading on here we once accepted an invitation but pulled out because Roy McFarland objected Posted Image

Sure we had more than one opportunity to take part in the old IOM pre-season tournament - but declined for some reason??
