I thought you were going to say they were funding a coach to show them how to play

It's about time they gave something back, how about turning in a performance too?

Whilst it's an admirable gesture from the players, what are the club doing to apologise? Increasing next season's ST prices?

Assuming £1200 for hiring a coach, take off £150 the club contributes (based on a round of drinks for players + staff at £4.50 each) and only senior squad players with coaching team contributing they'll be paying £50-£55 each.

A nice gesture but even in non-league a bit low level given recent performances. If they covered entry to the game + pie with a drink that'd show a bit more will to get fans to travel.

Split the donation 50/50 between True Blue and Bridge Inn travel,I realise those who travel by car will miss out but maybe some match tickets or something for them.We are all fans so should be treat equally.

Given it’s only a gesture that a few fans will benefit from on the day. It would have been to reward ALL that attend a free ticket as they will B****Y well deserve one

Most of them are on ordinary wages so its plenty. And let's face it we don't want their money, we want them to compete.

I agree shouldn't favour just True Blue travellers, the players won't know how the fans get to games but the club will.

Back in our promotion season in 84/5 I read an interesting article in the Crooked Spireite fanzine about our trip to Torquay when a coach ran from the Barley Mow. Sure we won 1-0 with a goal from Phil Brown.

It’s a decent gesture in fairness - As ever, execution is questionable but at least it’s some kind of acknowledgement of the crap that has been endured by the spireite faithful

This time last year Bridge Inn Travel's Paul Goodwin found himself smeared - to the point of having a confidential application publicised - for organising a long overdue protest.

And now that same group seem to've been snubbed by this pretty pointless PR stunt.

Players: don't selectively fund coaches - win games.

Carson and Co: don't give us crass gestures - get out of our club.

Nice Gesture but lets hope that the Coach doesn't:*Start off ok for the first 10-15 mins*Then start to get disorientated a bit*Then start to lose its way*Then go behind*Then start going round in circles like a headless chicken*Then start to run out of steam and get tired*Then give up*Then finally collapse and breakdown.

It's very poorly thought through, who the heck wants to treck all the way to torquay when we can hardly get fans into our own ground?
A better gesture would be for something back to all fans over the next few home games, the solihull game boxing day, sayba fiver adults, kids free.everyone free for goodness sake.
Try a gesture that really means something
