I think we are closer to playing Conference football than we have ever been? If the playing side doesn't improve we are vulnerable to occupying one of the bottom two places and, if not this season, then the odds will be increased next season. That is a fact based on current performances.
We have no right to stay a Football League side but current form is relegation form and with attendences plummeting our status, while not yet in danger, has the potential to be precarious.
I read in amazement the minority of posters who blatently try to shout down those that can see the dangers. Like lemmings that throw themselves over the cliff they are truely the 'enemy within.'
A Premiership chairman who was on holiday while his club was heading into crisis would be castigated by the national press. Just because this is Chesterfield doesn't mean we don't care any less.
I like to hear those who believe there is no crisis and that the football is excellent give their points of view in the radio; if they are brave enough.
