I think there is two types of supporters at Town AG.

You have the 2,500 or so 'die-hards' as they are colloquelly known, who go whatever the weather, however well/poorly the team are playing and if they think we have a chance of victory or not.

Then there is the fans that go to be entertained, if the weather is nice or if the wife hasn't got a list of jobs for them to do as long as their arm! With money being tighter than ever the people that aren't being entertained or witnessing victories will stay away, or find something better to do and you ca't blame them for that, thats their choice.

in that case what about the 20 year die hards that have said enough is enough and havent been since the 10 games of last season??

he's been once since and picked the Bury game to return to. To quote what he said -

"i wont return to saltergate to that clowns gone"

Comments like that have been used with the majority of CFC managers.

There not die hards! Die hards will be there no matter what. The fans who attend Exeter midweek later this month!

I don't buy this crap about the stayaways staying clear until the manager's gone. Maybe the stayaways should take a trip up St Margarets Drive and pledge their financial support by purchasing tickets for the remaining home games on the proviso that Barrie sacks Rico.

Don't hold your breath.

My comments were based on home games as the attendance at away game is irrelevant to the finances ogf our club.

If "die-hards" are staying away then they can't be classed as die-hards anymore.

Of course that is your right. I am just sick of people moaning that we dont get good gates so we dont make enough money.

Turn your back when its bad then become fan of the year when its good!

Get a grip woman..! If the beer at my local is poor, I won't drink it.

I'll admit to becoming a bit of a fair-weather fan in recent times after years of being there week-in, week-out. I couldn't give a monkeys about being referred to as a good fan or bad fan, I'm afraid, but I do blame the club for my present state of mind and get pretty narked when any blame for the club's ills falls anywhere near my door.

It could be argued that by turning up regularly, you're ensuring a p. poor product is sustained.

I think its worth noting that we're now talking about 2500 die-hards - it's not so long back they numbered 3000. Just goes to show they're not sheep. Hopefully those with the tools to address that decline will shortly wake up and smell the roses...

Get a grip? I said it was your right to do whatever you want. I dont blame you for staying away that is Hubbards job to get you to return.

How you can say that going is ensuring the p.poor continues. How can Hubbard afford to pay off a salary when attendances have dropped. So on the flip side, you not going and many others are contributing to Rico still being in a job!

Let's say this one more time because some folk can't seem to grasp it: if thousands of people turned up to every home game, not only would any change take far, far longer to happen, but those attendances would be taken as validation for the poor decisions made by those running the Club.

Rightly or wrongly (and as i say this as someone that rarely misses home games and has no plans to do so at this stage) it'll be the financial situation that forces Hubbard to admit he got it wrong, whilst the fans got it right.

as do i but sometimes you cant save your holidays for the midweek matches. does that make me less of a die hard?? if i could get to exeter i would. if i can get the day off (considering i'm on a team of 3 which makes it slightly easier) would you be willing to give me a lift so i still classed as a die hard

Get real, what kind of people keep spending money on something that doesnt give them enjoyment anymore?

The only problem CFC have with supporters is the lack of them due to the current set up at the football club. Would you continue to go to restaurant that served below average food and kept telling you everything was OK.

If you genuinely believe that supporters should turn up no matter what, then you are naive and part of the problem rather than the solution.

If it was a restaurant that I loved, and the restaurant needed it's patrons to stay in business, then yes, I'd still eat their tripe and trotters.
So if all the fans stayed away and the club got liquidated, who's fault is that? Indirectly, the board and the manager. Directly, the fans.

I don't know about eating tripe.
