He should start next game. maybe 4-3-3 with wardy and lester either side. Could be very dangerous.
There were lots of pressure on in the second half, and was disappointing not to get at least a goal.
October will be a big month for rico and the blue boys, we are already what 8 points from automatic. I know this is the most obvious comment but if we continue to go on this abysmal run of form then we will never catch them up. We have potentiallty 18 points to get in october. Target should need 4 wins from 6 at least.
We will have a full squad, so there should be no excuses !!!
If they give Rico till xmas, will it be too late to make a difference.

I think its been a different story away from home, but definitely home support has been poor this season.
And there really is only one Sir Mark Allott!! What a player, eh?

Up until that point the vocal support had been pretty non-existent but the crowd got behind the team and it improve them effort and performance and if we could have forced an equaliser we would have gone to win the game.
Discuss......
I think personally that the imprvoed performance at that part of the game was because we needed to step it up a gear to attempt to get something out of the game, it probably would have been the same if Lowry would have been able to carry on playing, we needed to change to improve, what wasn't in the plan was for Val to come on instead of Lowry. We looked better with Val on the pitch we had more going forward and had someone with a bit of pace on the pitch in the absence of Ward. Was suprised that Lowry was only a sub but don't know how often he trained during the week (if there was still the issue of the family illness). If Lowry would not have got injured we'd probably have got something out of the game as he is an important player for us, but when your in a bad patch things more often than not go against you, and so they did again. We're not helping ourselves though with consistantly poor defending.

Don't forget that Richardson's plan was to put the right back/right midfielder Lowry up front prior to his injury.
And please; "...bad patch"?
Brentford cruised to victory for most of the game, infact if we had half a dozen genuine goalscring opportunities throughout the whole ninety minutes, i'd be astonished.

Lester had a couple of snap shots and one that hit him from Val's cross.
Goodall hit the bar from a free kick.
Winter pulled one just wide and their keeper made a great save from a steaming shot of his from a free kick.
Downes nearly scored with a header from the free kick from the Lowry incident.

Indeed.
looking at the results from jan(inclusive) its clear that over a sustained 9 month period, even the most `positive` of fans must agree there is something really wrong.
Until I looked at that, i didnt realise just how badly we have done. Explains the levels of support doesnt it.

Roy Macs last 31 games in charge=
W8 D7 L 16
31 points from 31 games.
LR, in a lower division, with a far more competetive budget, is just 3 points better off than the period that saw Roy macfarland get the bullet.
That, for me, says all that needs to be said.

That could be the reason why they are 4th in the league and have conceded just 3 goals in 8 league games. They are very good at defending but also crap at scoring, fortunately for them they do just enough to sneak games 1-0. Did we really expect the Brentford game to be more entertaining than the wycombe game. They reduced our already poor forward line to few chances as that's their strong point this season, keeping clean sheets.
Maybe we should start playing dull backs to the wall defending to pick up some points, it's working for those two sides.
