Not sure where to put this, but Joe Sbarra released by Solihull. Quite surprised, should pick up a top NL club easily, maybe even L2 ?

I suspect he was out of contract, and didn't accept what he was offered.

York won promotion and the fa trophy in same season so it can be done. I do agree that some teams seem to devalue it these days, its even been won by some in non leagues second tier in recent years

I think York is the only time it"s ever been done. Furthermore, they didn"t win the [Tier 5] league. They had to take their chance via the play-offs lottery.

I love Cookie and wouldn’t want anyone else here. I’m sure even he would admit a few mistakes in the last couple of months (hey he’s human)

That may well be, but none of Cookie's mistakes were "total ****ups" (your words) imho.

    Ooh I’m hurt lol
(All for wanting town to win a trophy - who’d have thought)?!

All for having a dig at Cookie, after the event.

    End of??
Football and sport is about winning as many things as one can - maybe I’m wrong?

The Welling game was 1 of 4 games in 10 days.
We'd just lost to Solihull, and they'd also gave us a major scare at home.
Things were still tight at the top.
We were playing with a tight squad, with the Baileys and Harley being out on loan.
The amount of money the Kirk's HAD to inject in October 2023, meant promotion was essential. You know full well that the club was still spending well above it's income. It needed promotion.

Winning a cup at the potential sacrifice of our league status? Not for me.

We would have had to go to Bromley. You really think we would have won there?

Solihull and Gateshead both beat us in the league.

We've been in abysmal form for yhe past 12 games. What on earth makes you think had we beaten Welling, that we would have won the FA Trophy?
