Maybe so, but if that is to happen I would expect him to be replaced with someone who is a different option to Madden & Grigg. We need someone off the bench to be a physical threat who can win the ball in the air with his back to goal. That could be Quigley at his best but if Cook can do better he will.

Cook plays the ball on the floor in the main, we’ve scored the majority of our goals this way. Quigley holds the ball as opposed to scoring with his head. One to one with the goalies he’s deadly.
God I hate this league.

How come a thread about Paddy Madden turns into a Quigley bashing . Quigley is the different option

Totally agree. Yes, Quigs isn’t the quality of Grigg or Madden, but as soon as we won the league everyone has said we need another striker so we have 3… we sign that striker and suddenly we only need 2 again???

You don't offer someone a new contract when you're clearly, clearly romping the league if you have no intention of using them in the division above. This will have all been planned for (like or or not) so just relax and enjoy it.

I would have thought that Cook learned a great deal of new info when Grigg, for the first time in the season, was not available for the last handful of games.

I think people are being harsh on Quigley. He did more than enough last season to be given a chance this time round as a different forward option. I wouldn't want him as first choice striker but hes proved he can come on and be effective/score goals as a sub.

Will we? Remember if we have a couple of injuries we cant go out and get players once the window shuts so we need options plus the fact you can have 7 on the bench and use 5 of them. If we get the lad on loan from Derby does he count towards the 22 person squad? If not then no harm in keeping Quigley as that gives us 4 different types of striker which is no bad thing plus Drummond as a wide option\striker option.

I don't think he's going anywhere . He offers a completely different option if we need to divert to long ball which will occur next season for sure

Exactly my thoughts; Quigley proved his worth over and over again last season by getting winning goals late on. He probably got around 9 extra points for us by coming on late and turning draws into wins. Cookie will IMO, keep him for precisely the same role in L2.

Unless you're hoping to get a fee for him.

Dejaune Brown is only 18 so surely he will be included as one of the 21 players allowed outside of 22 man squad!

Couldn’t remember how it worked with him being a loan not one of our players. Wasn’t sure it was simply down to age.

Nail on head as usual. I wonder if he was as surprised as us at how ineffective we became, or whether he suspected it all along. Being Cookie, I reckon the latter.

So do I.
With the best will in the world, I can't see Quigley ever getting the nod over Madden to replace Grigg if they are both on the bench. Happy days.
