Would surprise me if people like Grimes and Grigg become back up players.
I think Quigley while improving will end up on loan in the NL next year.

Personally think both have a big part to play in the match day squad. Quigley will probably end up back on loan at Yeovil when they come back up to this league.

Tbh, I believe we do need to look at the defence whether it be a change at the back or tactically set up in a way we don't get caught out badly. This might mean a bigger roll for Jones next season.
We defo need another striker as we've been lucky regarding no major injuries to the front men.
Plus the keeper situation will need clarification whether Tyrer comes back and Boot leaving or Boot being No1 and Tyrer moving on loan somewhere else.

Of the players I’ve seen this Season Conn Clarke at Altrincham ought to be on our list of potential acquisitions plus at least one forward and one centre half.
Not sure Quigley is really good enough going forward so that means two forwards hopefully and one with a bit of pace.
Just looking generally at the age of the squad we need to get a couple of younger players in hence why Conn Clarke would fit the bill.
Looks like we are going to have plenty of time to consider next Season and start planning early for a Div 2 challenge!
Exciting times.
Alty turned down £150k for Conn Clark in January, might be too rich for our budget.

Boot maybe be number 2 or might want to move on to be number 1 elsewhere but he won’t be number one here, he’s can’t play the sweeper keeper role cookie prefers.
That said, he and Tyrer appear to have a good working relationship so if we can get them both to stay next season Boot would at least get in the match day squads amongst the 7 subs and presumably get the Carabao Cup and EFL Cup games if anything else.

If Boot can't play/adapt to the sweeper keeper role, it would be a strange signing - brought in to compete for No1 spot against Tyrer , say what if Boot had been the better keeper and started 90% of the games. Would we not have seen the sweeper keeper role implemented?
The games he's played in I think he and the team have done OK. If memory serves me right, I've seen him leave the box to sweep up and help out and not rooted to the 6yrd box

Boot’s done very well in every game I’ve seen him play for us including against the Championship side Watford. He’s left his area as and when required too. Personally, I think he warrants an extension to his contract.
Just thinking about the Watford game, a certain Joe Quigley did fine against them too so, probably, the doubters will have to wait to see if he, like a few other players, can step up to L2 level. Having said that, I feel that we should bring in a third striker, different to our other two, to supplement the squad. Unfortunately, though, such an acquisition might mean that young Curtis will have to move on to pastures new.
