Where did you pay for the enclosure and what was to stop you heading for the seats?

Couldn't you just walk round from the Kop like on the Compton?

You paid to get on the kop then transferred from the turnstyle at the end of the stand. The enclosure was linked to the either wing stand, you had the choice of both for the same price. I think you could also have done the same from the Stand side of Cross St

So the doors at the toilets either side of the centre stand were used?

Can't picture them Pete, just remember the centre stand was out of bounds.

The enclosure was great especially if you could get behind the dug outs

It is where I started watching but because I was the grandson of the bloke who organised programme selling (and I sold a handful at the foot of the wing stand stairs) I didn't pay. Those couple of years represent the only period when I got into the Rec for free. Had I known now much it was going to cost in money and, more latterly, time I might have told grandad to stuff it!

I remember watching quite a few games from the enclosure in 1976 at the time Graham Cross considerably shored up our back line after joining us on loan from Leicester.

Pete will be referring to the steps on the inside of the stand, not the one's pitch side, installed after the Bradford fire
