They do care, particularly as it?s a route in to Europe.

The ?they don?t care? rhetoric comes purely from United being allowed to ?miss? it one year as the FA we?re desperate for them to fly off half way round the world to represent England in the World Club Finals.

I?ve not seen any real evidence to suggest any team don?t care about it.

It's not necessarily that the teams don't care, gone are the days when the build up started early on cup final day, seeing the teams in their hotels, various interviews, coverage of the team buses getting to Wembley, a packed Wembley way and generally it seemed the whole nation was watching the final. They couldn't even fill Wembley on Saturday, which is an awful representation on the clubs (although most of the empty seats were in the City end), there were more at the Leeds game.

The clubs only get a set amount (both teams sold out theirs)- the County FA?s etc get a massive chunk

They maybe field full strength squads in the later rounds but its getting more common now for premier league sides fielding weak sides
