Are we fairly represented?

I have just had a look at the CFSS minutes posted from Jan 04 onwards and was a little shocked at the attendance levels of those who are reperesenting our interest on the Board of CFC 2001 Ltd

Jan 04 - All present
Feb 04 - J Croot Absent
Mar 04 - All Present
Apr 04 - P Taylor Absent
May 04 - J Croot Absent
Jun 04 - No minutes posted
Jul 04 - J Croot & P Taylor Absent
Aug 04 - P Taylor Absent
Sep 04 - J Croot Absent
Oct 04 - All present
Nov 04 - All present
Dec 04 - No meeting
Jan 05 - J Croot & P Taylor Absent
Feb 05 - J Croot Absent
Mar 05 - P Taylor Absent
Apr 05 - J Croot Absent
May 05 - All present

So out of the 15 meetings we have info for from Jan 04, Crooty was absent from 46.6% of CFSS Board meetings and Phil Taylor was absent from 33.3%. With this in mind, how can they sit on the CFC 2001 Ltd Board and fairly represent the interests of CFSS?

MP-Spire,

Do you believe we should judge board members on the number of times they attend meetings or should we judge them on what they do and what they achieve?

Those who are on the CFSS board representing our interests are there because the members put them there.

Many questions need to be asked in the Autumn. The way I see it, a large percentage of board members are unable, maybe unwilling, to get involved which puts a lot of pressure on those who do get involved.

If I were a board member and in a position where I was no longer able to contribute, be it for whatever reason, then I would call it a day.

But thats just me.

I think contribution and attendance go hand-in-hand.

When you look at attendance in connection with the minutes and required future actions attributed to certain individuals then some are down to do a lot of things are others aren't mentioned. Perhaps that means they aren't doing anything?

Not always the case..

What about those who attend all meetings but do nothing?

Attending the meetings isn't the be all and end all. Its nice when they do attend, but by attending it doesn't mean they are pulling their weight.
