Just come back from a World Cup meeting and thought I’d put some people’s minds at rest on a few things that I’ve found out:

1) All cities/grounds are to go into England’s 2018 Bid Book, after which if the country is chosen to host the tournament, FIFA will decide the final line-up. Only reason a city/ground will not be included would be some internal issue from city/club to force them to withdraw.

Hope that allays some fears any fans had regarding a 'final cut'

Also:

As Sheffield Wednesday’s Hillsborough has been chosen as a Host Ground, Norfolk Park will be a proposed venue for a Fan Park NOT Hillsborough Park

Training Sites proposed are: Keepmoat (Doncaster) Oakwell (Barnsley) B2net Stadium (Chesterfield), Bramall Lane (Sheffield United) and Stocksbridge Park Steels

These are all ‘proposed’ so things may well change but should give you an idea of the set up for the World Cup Bid as 4 teams will be in the area can't see why Chesterfield can't host one as a training camp!!!

I'm sure I read that millers fans think they'll be in the new ground for the start 2012 season................

I was expecting someone to say that the Millers new ground wouldnt be ready in time - i think they have at worse an 70-30 chance to have it completed by 2018, and who knows if our bid gets shunted back to 2022 they have even more time

Didn't the CFSS fans ballot for the relocation or staying at Saltergate take place in 2002? - If so Pete if we can get a fans vote, ground design, planning, funding and build done in eight years i reckon the millers can too :P

I would imagine that if England did win the bid there would be a little bit of help coming in from other sources (like Yorkshire Forward, and the FA and such a like) to help push there new ground project over the line if it was still not ready by say 2016.

Can it be included now thought bearing in mind it wasnt part of the original bid?

That's a good question - speaking to them last week they are hoping to be back in Rotherham in 2 seasons time....so 2011/2012....

I suppose it's a bit like the New Anfield or New Stadiums being proposed for 2018 - if they can prove they are going to be ready then they will be included - plus it is for training purposes only so it wouldn't be like it is hosting actual games...

Was at Hallam FC today btw and some old fellas were talking about how immense the B2net looks
