Welcome to Chesterfield Miguel Freckleton.

Do we think he will come straight into the team?

If he does, where will he play, and who might he replace?

Hopefully he will help us defend a bit better than we have been doing.

Ash Palmer for me. Never looks comfortable on the ball.

He's a left sided centre half and Palmer is right. If Rik Waller was the only right footed centre back at the club he'd be playing there ahead of anyone else. Cook has to have a left footer at LCB and a right footer at RCB.

I get that it is probably ideal, yes, but I can't see how it's critical. Plenty of CB partnerships are right-footers.

The Stockport Fans raved about Palmer when he signed for us but I've yet to see it.

Palmer is ok but for the lapses of concentration, which is why he is a non-league player

As I've pointed out before, Cook doesn't have to have a left footer and a right footer in the two CB berths.

He had two right footers with Evatt and Hird.

So, no different having two left footers.

I'll be astounded if both Grimes & Palmer dont start today.

Me too. Cook tends to give debuts to mid season signings from the bench, not the starting line up.

Rik’s best position was definitely keeper 😁

If he starts I'll be well surprised, and especially, as some have mooted, in the left back position. We need a central defender with pace, and now we have one. Grimes is our best CB followed by, in my opinion, Williams and Palmer. So when Freckleton plays I think he'll replace one of the latter pair. I suppose it all depends on who's comfortable playing as a right centre back, either Grimes or The Big Mig.

I've just Googled him out of curiosity and there genuinely is a picture of him in goalkeeper gloves 😂
