See a lot of them now used as part of pre game build up like at Chelsea when we played there.

I presume its something to do with the law change for business lighting, where all bulbs have to be low energy/heat by the of 2025 I think, the company I work for has been busy changing all the bulbs in and outside of the factory...

Pretty sure the originals were up to spec bearing in mind we?ve hosted various midweek England age group games.

Far from that Jon, they look to be in clusters of 6 with new backing panels.

Didn't we get our first lights secondhand from Sheffield United on the understanding that they were free if we shifted them.
Yes, they were eventually moved to the pitch in Eckington, as kids we could play at the side of the pitch in the evening under lights while Northern Intermediate side was training

I think we already had lights at Eckington at the time. I remember someone saying it was strange that the training ground was equipped with lights but Saltergate wasn't. The lights were bought from Sheffield Utd and cost ?10,000, There was an appeal to fund them and boxes for donations at the gound. They lay there, behind the kop, for months rusting away. When eventually construction began, the pylons began to twist and were deemed dangerous so new ones were bought.
I recall the Stoke game at home in the League Cup kicked off at 4.45. I bunked off school.
