Marc Richards signed for St Ives Town

I'd have thought that he had a few seasons at a higher level than that left in his locker

Donald did a good job of saying the right things to the fans and it started quite well but then there has been a lot of fuss over this money they've taken out of the club etc. Think quite a few had concerns from the start if things were to big for him etc.

Grigg all came about because the previous regime buggered up the contract for Maja, then his agent got involved and got in his head about money for a move abroad leaving Sunderland with no option to flog him or lose him for nothing. Left them desperate for a striker to stay on track for trying to get up and on paper it looked a good option signing Grigg until Wigan played on the desperation to make them pay far too much.

There will be another ownership change there sooner or later and who knows what character will roll up this time. Throw in the ridiculous wage cap thing thats been voted in and things arent going for Sunderland currently. They do have the biggest wage bill in League 1 but in terms of wages as part of income they are well under 50% whilst numerous others overspend.

How many players are Buxton looking to field next season?
Where is the money coming from?
These go to eleven.

Good question, they've also signed Matt Kilgallon ex Leeds today too along with re-signing town lad Nico DeGirolamo (Diego's older brother)

Ex was about to sign on loan before ditching us to go to Coventry instead striker Jonson Clarke-Harris set to join Peterborough for £1.25m apparently....presumably to replace Ivan Toney who is about to be sold.

Not sure why...he was lined up by Lester to join on loan wasn't he but it stalled for whatever reason and he disappeared to Coventry instead. There was talk that no one was around to finalise the deal but also he was never keen and used us to get other clubs interested.

Apologies, must be an age thing! You reference your better (other) half regularly with the Sunderland connection. Starting the post 'Ex was' etc Ex being the key word in my thought, yep an age thing. Cheers

Their chairman is David Hopkins who is the CEO of M Markovitz, they have splashed the cash in previous seasons but this year he seems to have gone all out bringing in players who should on paper challenge for that top spot in the league with South Shields.

Even at Matlock's level money is beginning to talk more and more but our volunteers are priceless and I'm proud that we are a family club that belongs to our community.

Further evidence of this is that they've now tied Diego DeGirolamo to a new 2 year deal
