Does Anyone Have Any Success With Correct Score Bets?
12 April 2025 - 11:56 AM
Another thread to delight my fans.
Even in my gambling hey day - thankfully now over - I never bet on correct scores as they were just too unpredictable. Must be the most difficult bet of all to call correctly. I did frequently bet on goals over such as 3 or more but never correct scores. In the same way I never did the lottery (apart from work syndicates) as I thought the odds of winning anything were ridiculously poor.
When I see the correct score thread before a game I never contribute and think why bother and wonder how many people get it right. I suppose 2-1 is the best chance.
Has anyone had decent gambling wins from correct score betting? -
We Aren’T The Only Fans Who Go Into Meltdown After A Defeat
08 April 2025 - 06:00 AM
Time for another thread for my fans such as Half Nelson and Dugglie Jardlie who much as they profess to hate them can’t resist reading them.
It seems we aren’t the only club who have fans who go into meltdown after any defeat. Apparently some of the Blunts fans after the defeat at Oxford behaved disgracefully towards the players driving Wilder wild, and this after the excellent season they’ve had.
It seems somewhat bizarre being a football supporter and expecting your team to never lose a game.
I know some will say that yes but it’s the manner of the defeat, but again every team will have stinkers even during a successful season. Apparently Liverpool who are going to romp to the title have been subpar for several games now. -
Even If They Are All Fit Are We Good Enough?
06 April 2025 - 08:59 AM
It could be argued that yesterday’s squad apart from the defence was the strongest we have as the injuries to the creative players are over, although obviously key defenders still missing. Despite this we were thraped which is worrying.
The little room for manoeuvre with the defence is obviously a major factor. It could also be argued that the likes of Grigg and Fleck are still feeling their way back and the injuries throughout the season have been a massive disruption from which we are still feeling the effects.
However there is also the nagging feeling that even with our best players all fit and firing we still won’t be good enough.
Grigg, Madden, Naylor, Fleck, Grimes and Banks, even if they stay fit are not going to get any better, whilst we seem to have seen the best of Colclough, although hopefully he can get his mojo back. Perhaps most worrying Dobra, excellent player that he can be, is still inconsistent and sometimes anonymous as he was yesterday. -
Was Ernie’S Heading Ability As Good As That Of Top Flight Strikers?
27 March 2025 - 04:36 PM
No apologies for starting another thread, but some might find it interesting & the assholes who whinge don’t need to read it.
Having referred to Ernie in the Caldwell thread it made me think was his heading ability top flight level? Obviously the rest of his play was nowhere near that level so it is purely academic, but based on heading alone (and he was damn good) would it have passed muster in the top flight? I reckon it would because his positional play was decent too.
Of course heading isn’t anywhere near as fashionable and valued as it was owing to the health risks, but will always play a part in the game. -
