The important thing with this is its just for fun!!!!
I am pleased to confirm that we have a new sponsor for this season.
The New sponsor is D.May General Haulage and Couriers(Sheffield). Many thanks for this.
The prize money agreed is based on winner takes all!!
Division 1 winner £100
Division 2 winner £25
Division 3 winner £25
If there is enough new participants to start a Division 4 then there will be no prize money for this division unfortunately.
For the first time there will be prize money for the cup with £50 for the cup winner
I am still in discussions with Graham Bean to see if he can allocate a page in the match day programme to promote the prediction league.
Hopefully last years players have got their players back in pre season training and looking to strengthen their teams and move on poor players and managers.
For players from last year, just reply to this thread to enter and you will retain your position in the league where you finished in stage 3.
New players just reply to this thread confirming you wish to enter. A note for new players, please only enter if you are committed as it is not fair on other players if you keep missing predictions.
Closing date and time for entrants is 5pm on Friday 26th July which will allow me time to confirm league structures.
I am not looking at any rule changes as I thought last year worked well. I did look at trying to introduce playoffs but would struggle to fit this in.
We will stick with 3 stages during the season with promotion and relegation between the top 2 teams in each division.
The first games to predict will be Saturday 3rd August.
League structures will be based on a maximum of 16 players in a league so each stage will consist of 15 head to head games against each person in the league. Once everyone has competed against each other that will conclude that stage and promotion and relegation confirmed and the next stage will begin the following week.
During the season there will also be a cup competition which allows the lower league teams to compete against the big boys in Division 1.
Rules below and how to score
Each round will consist of 10 games from Premier league, Championship, League 1, League 2, Scots Prem, Non League or random special games. Weekend games may be over Saturdays and Sundays and there will be some midweek predictions during the season. These will show as a double header.
Each person will need to predict the score for both teams in the games identified each week and identify 2 games as bankers which will score double points.
Predictions will need to be submitted before each game kicks off. Any submissions after a game has kicked off will not be accepted. Predictions can be changed any time prior to that game kicking off but please use this ethically.
Head to heads will be published at the same time as the fixtures.
Scores will be added up and the results posted on Bobs board after the completion of each round of fixtures.
If one person scores more points than the other then they will win 3 points and the loser will get 0 points, if both people are level they will get 1 point each.
A league table will be posted on the board after each round of fixtures. The first league table will be posted after the third game is completed
The table will be determined by the team with the highest number of points from the head to head games. If players are level on points then places will be determined by prediction points scored. If the prediction scores are level the place in the table will be determined by the head to head of both players
Scoring
There are 10 games to predict
Correct score for both teams 3 points
Correct result but not correct scores 1 point
Incorrect result 0 points
Identified Bankers for 2 games will score double points
There will be 1 bonus point awarded to the person or persons who get the highest prediction score each week.
Once the weather starts turning I will add 2 extra fixtures to predict and these will be introduced and used only if a game has been postponed or cancelled.
N.B Zorro's ground is subject to a pre season inspection by the management committee to check they have made sufficient improvements!!
