They were only maintaining it. One of the first things the Trust did was to bin them and bring in an in house groundskeeper.

As I remember it, we had a small but loyal crew looking after ours' only to be sacked off and the contract to some Deedah outfit.

One of many, well, let's deem them 'puzzling' occurrences under Carson and Co...

The head groundsman was called Antony Hayward wasn’t he. I remember a video and article of him explaining the high tech pitch fundamentals after he won a national award in something like 2012, sacked off in 2016 by Carson

Slightly off topic but I heard a rumour that the flood lighting has to be improved to meet league rules. I can't see that this is the case though

At the AGM Phil Kirk said the floodlight bulbs would be replaced with more energy efficient ones. No mention of it being to meet any rules, more to do with using less energy / cost I think.

National League requirements are 250 lux.
League 2 requirements are 500 lux.
Unless the EFL have increased the minimum lux values for L2 since our relegation, I would have thought we met the requirements.

From memory when the ground was built I seem to recall hearing that the lux met league 1'and 2 requirements but not the championship.

Sheff utd youth always seem to get a good few in. If there's a coach then its usually the away teams.
