I recently found out that I have a family connection to Bond's Main but I can't find out much information about it. Indeed I've been told it may have been named after a distant relative of mine but I'm not sure how true that is.
Anyone got any info/stories about it?

If you type Bonds Main Colliery into Google it will give you loads of info. It seems it was named after George Bond who was a Director of Stavely Company.
