I would say that is a honest overview of someone that actually sees what a player does throughout a game, and I think you would also be in agreement regarding how much work Grigg gets through in a game in the same vein.Itseems that some fans just pick a name out of a hat at the start of the season and decide no matter what to decry their efforts throughout the season.

100% completely agree on both points.

I was one of Quigley’s biggest critics but I will take a large slice of humble pie and say he’s has made a significant contribution to our season

The poster Bee Forever is the one who usually starts the next match thread. Seems to think he’s some kind of Evelyn Waugh. Titles are often obtuse (Eastleigh, the return flight to Sunderland) which is half explained, but for the life of me I can’t see the Mansfield connection .
Because the guy is on his stag do as he points out in his post?

Well first and foremost well done to the gasoline bar for putting the game on, great atmosphere for those who could not get tickets , shame about the coverage in this absolute tin pot league and i feel sorry for all teams in it amateur football it is.

Anyway bizzarre line up imo, if you had picked 100 spireites im pretty sure a few would have picked a better line up than the gaffer, he is only human though we all make mistakes, funnily enough his line up may have unearthed a gem as i thought hobson looked like a player willing to have a go , got a bit of that handsworth spite in him ( set of dirty scumbags )and i liked his freshness.

Defence...sweet jesus and mary chain, the centre halves were shocking...jamie jamie jamie...dont step in ..twice you did it and let the much cleverer than you players slip the ball in behind, watch the vìdeo kid and see how bad you looked..you are at best the no2 to a far better centre half next season.

Forward 4 ...I like quiggers but league player he is not , how has he got an extra year a blind man on a galloping horse can tell he isnt that standard, that isnt a slight on him its just reality we all have our ceiling levels at sport.

Jacobs..lets hope he has only a year, if anybody has seen moneyball , he would be out in an instant age wise and stat wise he aint doing enough for a class dropper..bring in a younger 10 and bring the average age down

Apart from that up the town and **** off national league

The criticism of the CH's after this match is silly. No CH or combination of CH's can withstand the pressure of having a RB, LB, CF, RCM and LCM (that's Shecks, Horton, Oldaker, Jacobs, and Quigley) all give the ball away so often when not under pressure. It's not possible. The CH's weren't caught on the hop, they were done by simple precise passing by players not under pressure to team mates doing simple running off the ball.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Well said.Playing our system and losing the ball in midfield is a recipe for disaster. Of course on the odd occasion something will go wrong and we'll lose the ball, but yesterday it was almost funny, the number of ways they found to feed the opposition. An opposition that could afford to pack midfield in the absence of our attackers until Dobra and Colclough came on.

his goal return this season isn't bad, come on be fair and he has won us points this season, i'm not advocating he is the striker for the future but give him credit please for the role he has played this campaign

Just backing up he's won us points this season.
Joe Quigley's goals this season
Scored the winner (from the bench) v Dorking +2 points
Scored the winner (from the bench) v Aldershot +2 points
Scored the winner (from the bench) v Halifax +2 points
Scored 1st v Bromley
Scored 2nd v Boreham Wood
Scored 4th v Barnet
Scored 1st v Woking
Scored v Watford
Scored 2nd v Southend
Scored 2nd v Oldham +1 point
His goals have won us an extra 7 points this year and solidified 15 points.
He scored 7 goals in 48 appearances last year and he's scored 10 in 30.

Cant be too harsh on him as he's been excellent recently but I thought Sheckleford was absolutely abysmal with his positioning and overall play.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

I've said for a while that certain players offered a years extension to their contract will probably be sold pre season and we will get a little bit of money for them. I'm thinking Quigley, Williams, Oldaker, who we'll probably make back in transfer fees what extra we are paying them on their new contract for the second half of this season.
Then the likes of Horton & Grimes may be looking at being back up and want a move in January and we should get a small amount for them from someone in the national league.

10 in 10 starts I think , 20 of those 30 appearances were from the bench so goals per minutes record is good.
