If your manager is so good why did you finish 27 points behind us?

The levels of delusion on here for a club thats just won the easiest National League in a decade is something to behold. Honestly, I mean your closest challengers are Bromley and Barnet FFS.   :D :D :D :D

erm, money.... or does that not help a little bit?

By the way you failed to win in 12 games last season against these really weak teams, does that make you really weak too??? And 18 the season before - including against Grimsby in the play off final. On your logic they must be loads better than you then...

By the way you've played Bromley 7 times at their place and failed to win 6 of them.... must try harder on the being clever front (which I suspect would be hard as you would have to be well cleverer!)

Excellent retort, maybe this Wrexham remedial is just here so we can all rally round telling him to sod off and we can all start healing?
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

Wrexham are a very similar club to us.

So I have nothing but good wishes for their couple of thousand fans who endured sixteen long, painful, humiliating seasons in this dungeon.

Same applies to their Hollywood millions. Fair play, say I. Rather they go to a traditionally minor outfit like them than, say, a Wednesday followed by far too many entitled halfwits.

But the truth is it took that metaphorical lottery win for Wrexham to win this league. It was bought and paid for by the Deadpool Duo. Hell - any side that can casually go out and sign former England players (yeah, the irony, huh) ought to be smashing it. Not because of any history, not because of a suddenly emerging fanbase and certainly not because the manager's some sorta football genius.

Money, simple as that. And we know as well as anyone what happens when the bloke signing the cheques goes ga-ga.

Theirs' isnt the only club propped up by one man's mid-life crisis, either. A quick glance over the motorway reveals another classic example. Another punching way above it's weight on that built-on-sand basis.

I'm more than happy where we are, though. Run by genuine Town folk, managed by someone with a genuine attachment to Town and a stadium filled with genuine Town fans. As opposed to ones at least in part motivated by here today, gone tomorrow media hype.

All of which means our promotion will be a Chesterfield promotion, no one else's.

Oh, and by the way. I doubt anyone on here is so pathetically sad to go to the time and trouble of joining next season's National League leaders' messageboard to tell them how much better we were...

Just the biggest winning margin one to go for now - held by Luton (19 points) - they seem to be doing OK now...

See you are just about hanging on to third after a defeat last time out... and the only games you have won since County the opposition have had someone sent off... maybe concentrate on your own team currently, otherwise we will be able to renew the challenge next season....you should beat the Fishies, although they are unbeated in 5, and then the big match against Mansfield where hopefully the ref wins!
Stay Home. Stay Safe.

So sad that you feel the need to trawl other fans forums from a League below you. Would have expected more class honestly.

Best of it is we were a better side than Rectum last season we just were not as consistent against the lower teams and we lost Kabby. We gave em a lesson in football both home and away.

The irony is the NL must have reclaimed the trophy from wrexham with them only being in possession of it for 11ish months whereby we could be its keeper for 13 months.

Our manager has a 62% win ratio with us, finished 27 points ahead of you last season and has a CV that most managers can only dream about (multiple promotions) - so if he's one of 2 main issues, we haven't got much to worry about at all. And if the other issue is Mullin then the same applies.

I just don't see you at the top end of league two next season without major investment. And thats not always possible with FFP. How will you get around that?

Your team is largely the same as last season is it not? So whats new? Grigg has been added and you rely on him for goals looking at the top NL scorers but looking at the quality of L2 strikers he won't be enough. Your other strikers haven't cut it in NL so unlikely to do so in the league above.

Even Notts County fans were thoroughly modest about their chances this season (most though higher mid table) and thats with getting a staggering amount of points last season and they finished way above you too. They were there for the taking at Wembley and you still didn't beat them remember. They are currently 9th in League 2 by the way.
Just my thoughts.

you bought the League
